Please stay safe and focused on surviving this catastrophic firestorm. Check in with us if and when you can just to let us know you're okay. If anyone else on the board has friends/family in harm's way, please check in with them and even if you're not religious, say a prayer or two.

    Take care and stay Safe!

When the Sunset Fire broke out in the canyon next to where I live... I was at work watching it on TV.
Luckily the winds had died down enough to enable fire fighters to keep it under control.

Still... it got close enough to my place to freak me right the fuck out.

    Thanks @Brook!

As long as the wind & the arsonists settle down... I'll be fine.

Thanks y’all…I live north of Calabasas so the Kenneth fire was too close for comfort but that one is now contained and my house is safe from that one. The Palisades fire is BRUTAL…I know a few people who lived in the Palisades and lost their homes so that is beyond crazy and sad.

So far so good and hoping the winds stay away …

I don’t mean to make light of it and I’m glad you’re safe. But you posted in the game thread you were watching from your patio. I know you’re not that old but I kind of figured this was you saving your house you cowboy son of a bitch.

Many thanks Cman. I live in Rancho Palos Verdes, about thirty miles south. No real threat, but we could see the smoke all the way to Long Beach. Worst catastrophe in Los Angeles due to fire that I can remember. Our prayers are with the many left homeless, and even more so for those that are missing or have perished in the dreadful fire.

Yeah... stayed up watching out for flying embers. It was spooky quiet because most of my neighbors evacuated the area.

Trust me... if shit got crazy I woulda grabbed my dog and my get-gone bag and split.

While anyone affected by this deserves all the help/attention it can get, and not to take away from that…. It’s pretty amazing the difference in the sympathy/ response to this vs NC. I guess it really has to hit stars to bring out stars, get prayers before nfl games etc. the concert for Carolina drew mostly country artists, while no doubt to Stevie nicks came out for CA. Still people freezing in tents in NC. Too bad they weren’t “somebody”.

We have offices in North Carolina, Georgia and all throughout California. Our CEO is based in Southern California. We got almost daily updates on the fires from him to the entire company.

We only had one employee in Western NC that lost their house but we didn’t hear a peep from that douchebag about it.

The entire country forgot about Maui and Western NC because Tom Hanks doesn’t live there and didn’t lose his house in Appalachia. It’s rather sad.
