Is this for real or sarcasm???

As lifelong Gator fan and avid SEC follower, Milroe is one of the worst qb's I've seen in a long time. Short of throwing the ball up and letting his incredible WR's go get it, he is awful. He can't read defenses, he's wildly inaccurate and ultimately couldn't win at Alabama, where they have superior talent to almost everyone, short of Texas, Georgia and maybe LSU. His game barely translated to college football, there's no way he succeeds in the NFL.

If anything, Jaxson Dart is the guy that reminds me of the qb's you listed above. I'd be all about the Jets taking a shot on him if he's available at the appropriate time.

This team needs A LOT. My choice would be to trade down and get the best O lineman possible and grab a WR as well.

McDonald came into his own this year and looks really solid. J.J. is back next year and Q is a beast. We can fill the rest of the d line through free agency.

Davante is gone, Lazard is what he is and Garrett is already suggesting he's not thrilled to be here. It's a pretty deep WR class.

I'd also go grab Jaxson Dart if the opportunity presents itself, but not at 7.

He's by far the best qb in this draft IMO. The only caveat to this is whether the Jets think Jordan Travis can be the guy, once healthy.

Luckily we're a team that needs help at every single position other than, ironically, the offensive line other than needing depth. The only way we could fuck this up is reaching for a QB.

My top two choices are Mason Graham and Abdul Carter, who I think is going to be an absolute stud a la Micah Parsons.

Milroe is physically gifted though. I think there is something to be said about that.

1000%. The way he was just throwing it up at the end of the game, maybe he wanted to ensure that the Gators didn't change their mind and go after Lane :). He singlehandedly made sure Lane stays at Ole Miss!

All I see is you just listing players that busted. Some of them from almost 20 years ago, none of them really that comparable to Jalen Milroe

They're all "physically gifted" busts. All drafted on their "physical gifts"

You can either play football or not. Drafting guys on their physical gifts and/or potential when they have yet to prove they can actually play is a disaster in the making.

Get me football players, not guys who couldn't cut it in college, but "look the part"

I'd rather have Napier than Kiffin anyway...

My request is to trade down with a new HC, new GM. Need a lot of pieces to puzzle to build this team for couple of years.

We have to start evaluating actual players. What is there is another Brock Bowers in the draft falls to us, surely we have to grab him :)

Well Josh Allen is an example of a physically gifted QB who struggled statistically in college. You could've listed him

A rare example though - but even he looked a lot better than Milroe this last year. Strangely he took a big step back from a year before.

I dont know if Milroe is the answer, I'm actually NOT sold on him, but he did have a whole new coaching staff, right. That could be a reason for the step back. I admire that he didn't quit on his school and transfer like many would've.

If I was to compare him to Jaxson Dart like posters here are, it was Dart's 3rd year in the same system. He had it a little easier than Milroe

Sounds like a typical day 2 dart. Don't think it's the best use of #7 overall.

He also had a shitty offensive coordinator in 2023 even though Saban was there to run interference. There was so much turmoil early in the season because Tommy Rees wanted to just run a drop back offense and Saban (correctly) wanted to build an offense around Milroe’s dynamic skill set.

It got so far that there was a reported behind the scenes fight where Saban told him fine run your offense against South Florida with the shitty QB’s you want playing (Tyler Buchner and Simpson) and let’s see whose right.

Milroe is wildly talented and has a penchant for making big plays even though he struggles with the easy one’s at times. Very polarizing and interesting prospect that I think people who watched the one shitty bowl game against Michigan (an elite defense btw) shouldn’t draw all encompassing conclusions on.

Would you grab him at 7? Or somewhere on day 2?

great points. yes, that Michigan defense was elite, he would've cut up an overrated Duke team just the same as Ole Miss did

when I see him he reminds me so much of rookie level Lamar Jackson, obviously it took some development to get Jackson where he is now and it will with Milroe, which is why im not "sold." But all things considered I'd rather pick him than some other names thrown out.
