Joe Douglas was a bad GM and even more pathetic as a leaker. Picks like Denzel Mims, Elijah More, Malachi Corley, ZACH WILSON, Mekhi Becton were just way too much to overcome. Hate Him. Need a real GM here who gets high level CFB players/programs and when to go for the sleeper picks.
I've usually been an optimistic fan since 1967, but this is my first season as a Darksider. I was not disappointed. I got my Sauer jersey, so fuck Woody. Woohoo!
To quote Hemingway "A man can be destroyed, but not defeated" and that's exactly how I feel about the Jets. The franchise is in shambles and I've never felt so detached, but regardless of how disinterested I feel now, I can't quit them. I'll be following the coach and GM search. I'll eagerly be paying attention to free agency and the draft. All summer I'll be looking forward to the first game in September. As long as I'm alive and the NFL and Jets exist, I'll care no matter how bad I don't want to.
I'm thinking this is a five year project before this team could reasonably acheive any real relevance.
Are you saying he won’t come here because we have too many holes and no QB or that Jets won’t consider interviewing him?
I doubt he’d want to come here but I also don’t think he’s going to wave his magic wand and be this amazing organizational head coach that everyone here thinks he’s going to be. There are a lot of important dynamics in place in Detroit that allow him to sit in a corner and design and call plays. Being a head coach is a lot more than that.
You know when something bad happens in life and all you can do is laugh and shake your head? Well, that's how I feel about this season. Zero emotion. Looking back, if we actually won the games we gave away, our season would have likely ended up like the Bengals. A 9-8 record, still no playoffs, a false hope that perhaps this is the right coaching staff and front office, and one more year of the same, ultimately to blow it apart in 2026.
Woody if I ever see you, my enraged woody will show you no mercy! nah probably not. I don’t know he just fucking sucks. At point I almost felt bad for him, I mean, nobody likes him. I wish he would just go away. I have no faith in him to hire a good gm or good coach. Maybe we will hire Adam Gase again
It's always nice when the Jets beat the Fins. Before Tom Brady, the Fins were the Jets main rival for years. And it was a real rivalry b/c neither team dominated. There were also a lot of very exciting games btw the 2 teams. So I'll always hate the Dolphins way more than I hate the Bills and the Patriots. Ah, memories of Marino, Don Shula, Ken O'Brien and Wesley Walker, etc.
Woody you are a narcissist, piece of shit. You have made the Jets the laughingstock of the NFL. Now you unleash your useless spawns on us, that should have been aborted. You destroy everything you encounter, including your late daughter. Sell the team you useless excuse for a human being! I look forward to seeing Karma come for you.
Worst 2 year stretch of any team I root for ever. I don't think the punches are done. I fully expect GW to request a trade.
I hate this team with a passion right now. I hate the owner and his spoiled little Madden-playing shit stain kids. I hate the front office, if there's anyone left, for always making the splash signing instead of developing players. I hate the coaching staff for not changing the team's culture. I hate Rodgers, for his lack of accountability, and for what he stands for as a man. I hate our players for giving up when it matters and performing when it doesn't. I hate the NY and football media for trashing the team and players at the first sign of any vulnerability or weakness. I hate the fans for thinking we were going to succeed with this sham of a team and for thinking there's any hope of it getting better. Mostly, I hate myself for choosing this God-forsaken franchise as my team.
It's not lost on me that even in victory the Jets are all over Sportscenter and social media with LOL highlights like that idiotic trick play where Adams got crushed or the pre-game shit-show with the upside-down "STEJ" Banner.
All Becton needed was to get away from Carter and find a good OLC to develop him. Becton at this point with the Eagles is better than anybody on the Jet OLine.
Given that our best O-lineman is a rookie, that's a pretty low bar to clear. We overrate our O-line a little bit this year because they weren't the dumpster fires the last several years have been, but they still weren't good, especially once an injury occurred that brought one of the backups in.
