This is laughably wrong. But no need to debate it now. We can discuss it three months from now when we will either have a rookie head coach or Rodgers (and a veteran head coach).

Is that why he took guaranteed 35 mil dollar pay cut, largest in team sports history? https://www.nfl.com/news/jets-legen...n-rodgers-for-taking-pay-cut-it-s-a-great-exh
Whatever chess he is playing, it is not about more money.

Come on, we just went through the entire thread where people were unhappy with Woody meddling this season. Now you want him to meddle? This season is over. At this point let this regime finish and then Woody can clean with the bleach exactly a week from today. New GM will then decide on Rodgers. Yeah, he stunk yesterday, but there is no need to make emotional decisions now. Finish the shit show and let new GM/HC come in and take over from there.

Great. There is literally no coach in the country (at any level - pros, college, high school) that would rather have Jordan Travis or Tyrod Taylor as his quarterback next season than Aaron Rodgers. It is comical even suggesting it. These guys bet their careers on their quarterback; they aren't risking it on a complete unknown or a career backup when a Hall of Fame quarterback (having a league-average season) is already on the roster and paid for. And it becomes even more true when you realize that if your HOF quarterback goes, so does your best wide receiver (who is apparently his closest friend).

    Facts.

Also any coach coming in knows this is a results driven business. There is no "rebuild season" because it will stick on your record forever if you have a bad season. Whoever is coming in here is coming in here to win and like it or not Rodgers gives the best opportunity to win next season.

Just look around the league, the Giants and Patriots might be firing their coaches despite a "rebuild". You can't throw away seasons in this league, you will get fired.

You’re making it a lot more black and white than it is. It’s not just Rodgers vs. shitty stopgaps in terms of solely ability. Although Rodgers has also been pretty crappy for about half the time this year and at other points played selfishly rather than tried to win games.

The last thing a coach wants is to be consistently undermined in not only the media but the locker room as well as possibly up the ladder to the front office. I think a lot of coaches would rather take a year of shitty quarterback play that’s fighting for the team and not fucking up the culture they’re trying to build than the alternative with what Rodgers has clearly done this year.

So I don’t think “every coach” chooses Rodgers and the antics and bullshit over a shitty guy that isn’t kamikazying the dynamics of the team especially in year one (and what would be the only year Rodgers would be here). I’d think most any coach coming here understands next year is about laying groundwork and hoping to be competitive in 3/4’s of the games. We’re going to be in cap hell with little roster maneuverability with or without Rodgers and Adams.

Besides, where is the upside of Rodgers taking a young, impressionable talent and turning him into a petulant clone of himself? Do we REALLY want Rodgers as a mentor to a young QB?

Yes, what football coach would want a clone of a multiple-time MVP at quarterback? Do you guys even listen to what you are saying?

We didn’t get 4-time MVP Rodgers though. We basically got 2015 Ryan Fitzpatrick with 6 more losses and an added element to poison the culture even worse then it is which resulted in early season coach and GM firings though.

I don’t really want 2016 Ryan Fitzpatrick next year.

I would say this was true if it wasn’t for the fact that we got a 41 year old hof qb, that throws at peoples feet, rips apart the locker room, and has many jet fans yearning for Zach Wilson.

This is where owners need to step in because there exists a conflict of interest in what’s best for the organization and what’s best for the current regime. Under no circumstances should an owner allow a regime to prejudice progress because they feel safe with who they have when it’s proven that who they have will take them nowhere. They won 4 games with this guy for shits sake. He’s not the answer and we all know that.

    G. Wilson supposedly has stated that if Rodgers returns, he wants a trade. Not sounding like they are friends at all.

Rodgers sucked so the Jets will have a top 10 draft pick. That’s attractive to a new GM and coach.

Being forced to work with a disgruntled 41 year old that is always blaming others and making excuses is not

If they are any good as candidates they are looking beyond 2025 anyway
