The fans on this board ran Sam out of town. Don't think Woody et. al. didn't hear you. That and the talk show nonsense from you know who made it impossible to keep him under center. Please let the next GM and coach do their jobs. Just shut up and root.
Darnold looks incredible. The throws he is making are super difficult. This is no fluke or being in the right system. It's skill.
Sam Darnold and Mekhi Becton are we losing just bad players or is it our Jet organization not developing them properly??
Yeah basically can't get a bigger regular season game than this and 2 more TD's on the ever-growing pile already. Makes me so mad.
Good coach, OL, weapons - everything that JD and others here failed to give him. What could have been,,,
Darnold and trade #2. Alot of people including me said this on the board. Build a team around a young QB - is how you win in the NFL. Jets and fans let the ghost game define him in NY. Terrible. Great, humble, team-first kid. Happy for him. Mad at us.
I really like Darnold. He was just poorly coached here. He's older now and has gotten better, with right coaches in place I wouldn't mind a reunion.
That ghost game set him back years. And JD did him no favors either. Went from bad to worse. If you play a rookie, build the fucking wall around him. Some weapons would be nice too. But you cannot give the guys shit of the OL, make him a tackling dummy and expect to develop.
I actually wouldn't mind him returning but I think he wouldn't want any part of this organization after being on the 49ers and Vikings. Money talks though, he is going to get a massive contract. When was the last time a QB won 14 games heading into free agency?
Y'all can't be THAT mad about the Jeudy trade getting c-blocked. (I'm treating this as the other games thread.)
Another thing that low-key screwed the Jets as far as Darnold is concerned was the 2019 draft. I love Quinnen and god bless his effort but as far as Sam Darnold was concerned the Jets had the #3 overall pick and if there was EVER a time we needed a Jamar Chase or Cedee Lamb or stud LT or some kind of offensive stud to be there that was it and there was just nothing available. I don't study that stuff but that had to literally be among the worst years ever to have the #3 overall pick for offensive players. A stud LT might have even unwittingly side-stepped Becton the next year as a nice bonus.
You have to wonder what type of success would Gardner, Hall and Wilson have if they were with a top tier team. Can we keep them or will they move on because of the the incompetent organization.Drastic changes have to be made. Woody has to stay out of the way.
Darnold looking great again against the packers he just proves more and more every week why this is the dumbest organization in nfl history, gave up on this guy to draft the great Zack Wilson that turned into the great 41 year old Joe Namath wanna be - 2 a haul of firsts, 2 2nds and salary cap hell, oh ya almost forgot the great football whiz Hackett
If the Vikings beat Detroit next week they are going to the Super Bowl. They are playing the best football of any team in the NFC. Biggest game of Darnolds career next week going to be interesting.
I think they can franchise him but surely he would hold out then. Vikings going to have to pay probably the biggest contract in the NFL for Darnold.
Why would he hold out? Kirk played on the franchise tag twice and made guaranteed bank. Darnold’s having a great season but he’s not getting the biggest contract in the NFL dude lol. Stop being goofy.
One interesting fact about Sam Darnold he's from USC. In the history of the Super Bowl no USC QB has ever led started on the winning or losing team in ANY Super Bowl. The closest they have ever reached was Carson Palmer who lost in the NFC finals.
