I just wanted to point this out that we nearly beat both teams that are playing in Super Bowl XLI. I think that there is something to be said about that. A combined 14 points is all we lost by to both teams. Now with that being said, next year we need to find a way to beat those teams. I think with Mangini and Tannenbaum we will find the talent to do it. Just something positive to look at during the offseason.
That's true. But I don't see this little fact raising my spirits as of now. Season being over and all. Now next season... We're making a run for it all!
Well it makes ME happy...and if the Pats would have gone, then we could have said that we even beat the SB winnners. Anyway, with money on our side...we're gunna be one hell of a threat next year.
Shoulda coulda woulda, every given Sunday. Bottom line is almost doesn't count. In this case it actually means absolutely nothing.
Just out of morbid curiosity I would have like to have played the Colts at the last game. The upturn in our form may have raised a few eyebows with a win over them rather than the Faiders.
YOu should read more than just the Thread Title. I was talking about how this should be taken as a positive and with a few FA pickups and a year under our belt next year we can win those games.
Would of; should of; could of ; means zilch! Next year will bring a different look and a new set of problems! NE has two first round picks and a ton of free agent money. Indy has few glaring needs! They have the best QB in the league and a dynamic runner to compliment him! IMO we have to beat NE for HOME FIELD advantage or we won't be going anywhere soon! The BEARS did not play a great game and still handled us well and won! While I love to have confidence in our team, lets be realistic!
Next to Rob A, I'm the most optimistic Jet Fan I know but I think we have miles to go before we can think about the Championship. We can certainly make huge strides next year but when I watched the divisional game between San Diego and the Pats it made me realise just how much works need to be done. There is a fine line between a good team in the NFL and a great one, in my opinion bone head plays and poor coaching have the great NFL team (San Diego) looking at what might have been.
Being positive & having the horses to win it all is like nite is to day. IMHO more realty & less rosiness would probably make debate on this board far more interesting then it now. Hopefully you are aware that the ONLY things that wins CHAMPIONSHIPs is have players that have talent. As a example we have a MLB that makes almost all of his plays 5 or more yds down field do you think that player is a championship caliber player?
This thread made me feel good for about 2 seconds before I remembered that Miami dominated both Superbowl teams this season (the Pats in one game, at least).
As much as I hate the Pats, yesterday's game just showed me how hard next year will be to win in the AFC east. We have the hardest division, the Pats will always be hard to beat, unless Brady is out from an injury.
