If AR were willing to restructure and reduce his comp, and that would perhaps be enough to get Adams to do the same, I’d be all for it. Invest almost every draft pick into OL and DL…we need help up front on both lines, especially at DT and probably DE as JJ may not be the same next year after injury…but I wouldn’t mind if our first 4 picks were OT, OG, DT, DE in whatever order makes sense based on who’s on the board, and then run it back with AR, GW, DA, Hall/Allen/Davis…I think with a real coaching staff, that can be a playoff team.

We’ll see…who knows what AR will do, that will be the first domino.

And our D can not stop any lead, particularly in the 4th quarter. They are simply atrocious. Our running game completely cratered and is massively inefficient, but here we are, we had six games in which we held a lead late in the fourth quarter and gave it up with idiotic penalties and piss poor defense. And apparently all of that is a reflection on AR…..such BS. We are suffering first and foremost from massively inept coaching, made significantly worse after they fired Saleh. AR has not been great by a long shot, but far and away the least of our problem. If you think another vet will do better under these circumstances…..well we better think again.

I would add, first and foremost completely over haul our OC staff from top to bottom, and then the DC staff. Hope we get a HC that fully embraces that.

we have 4 wins. I think another (cheaper) vet could match that

This year - sure, who cares. But we did lose a lot of close games, which with a worse QB we are losing by more and no one cases. But next year though these extra points on offense could be a difference between wins and losses. I would not want to get some vet who is worse than Rodgers. Either Rodgers or someone similar or better. But ideally I do not want to downgrade to Tyrod or Winston.

Are you looking towards next season as a playoff contending one for the Jets? If so, you may be the only one out there.

It will be a time for the franchise to begin to regroup behind a new administration and coaching staff with an eye on the future. It would be a terrible time to delay that for another year while the shell of a former quarterback gets older, slower and less accurate than he has been for three years. The time will be ripe to lock in those few players not easy to replace and slash the collective salaries of the team to save cap space for the following year.

Admittedly yes I am thinking we can make play-offs next year and would have made it this year already if we had better coaching and JD didn't end up unnecessarily fucking up DLine and then waiting until the season was effectively over to replace a kicker. So, with the better coaching and a few moves by a better GM, I think next year we can make play-offs, yes. I am tired of losing, and I think the roster is good enough with some small changes and better coaching to win next year.

But we need a decent QB. It does not have to be Aaron, but it needs to be someone who is not much worse than him. And there can be worse to be sure, we had #32 rated QB for years. I want a QB in around 17-22 range, where I believe Aaron is at now, which is why he is one of the choices, unless of course he drops in the next 3 games. Like I said though, as long as it is someone in that range it does not have to be him.

My problem (one of many) with Rodgers is his age. Yes, he has played better the last month, but who knows if he will get hurt again next year? Odds are he will. Can’t depend on him to play well for 17 games when he has not in 2023 or 2024.

Other factor is the new GM and Head Coach. Do they want to rebuild or do they want to retool and compete in 2025? If the answer is retool, then Rodgers and Adams can come back. If not, start fresh. I am fine with either but definitely lean towards starting fresh.
