Sad part is I DO believe a lot of it, if not all of it. Woody is absolutely as clueless as this makes him look. I have no doubt he meddles and understands little…he listens to whomever’s voice is in his ear…he listened to Peyton say Gase was great…he listened to dinosaur Casserly tell him Mac was the best choice. He listened to Korn Ferry tell him Idzik was the best choice. In all honestly, the ONLY time listening and acting on it was the right answer was when he listened to the fans and the airplane banners telling him to fire the GM. That’s it. He is a full on moron who has no knowledge of the game or what it takes to run a successful organization…if he did, we wouldn’t be in such bad shape. I agree…I hate seeing players want out, but man I hear shit like this and I totally understand it. And the bit about his stupid fucking kids…it sounds like shit ripped right out of one of those 1980s John Hughes high school movies where you had that asshole rich spoiled kid who was always the villain. That’s Woody’s kids. I had no idea they were just as bad as their dad, but it shouldn’t be a surprise, right? This team has NO chance to be great with Woody in charge unless and until he just somehow lucks into the right leader, whether it’s the GM or a President of Football Operations, or shit maybe even just a great HC…but until he lucks into that (because we already KNOW he can’t make that right hire by choice) AND also decides to step out of everything…until both of those things happen, we will continue to be a bottom of the barrel franchise. And in the end, WE are the idiots who continue to support him financially and invest our emotions into his shit hoping beyond hope we get lucky.

It just keeps looking worse and worse for Woody. I don't know if this is actually true, but if so, this is way more absurd than any of the other Woody rumors in recent times. I honestly do not see how any good GM or coach wants to come here. The Jets didn’t hire officials for training camp, a standard practice in the NFL, after being the most penalized team in the league in 2023. LOL WHAT??????
I haven't posted in a while but man this was worth coming back on the for. This is officially rock bottom. And anyone blaming Diana Russini and the Athletic is clueless. This isn't some hit job. Listening to her on BT and Sal, this has been vetted, confirmed and re-confirmed multiple times. It's all true. I want her to keep it up so hopefully one of two things happen. 1) He sells the team. After hearing about this nonsense with the kids, he isn't selling. His kids will (like it or not) be the future owners of the Jets. Just let that sink in. OR 2) Short term, due to the embarrassment he changes his ways. This is the best we can hope for aside from him doing something illegal or so terrible he is FORCED to sell This is what we are facing everyone.

Out of all the reports that surfaced recently its no coincidence, That Woody thinks he is a genious and trying to intefere with daily operations of this football team based on his dellusions, I no longer blame all the dreck coaches, gm's, and the Hacketts we have had, it is impossible that they were all bad. It all reverts back to Woody intefering with them doing their jobs as the possible solution. That's why no serious coach with a ego or something to prove will ever come here not even for a billion dollars.

Sure, I suspected he was an incompetent meddler, but I viewed him as sort of a hapless doofus who couldn't get out of his own way. This article, however, paints a picture of a darker, nastier Woody. It's unbelievable that this guy who never had to work for anything in his life and his silver-spoon kids actually mocked players in the locker room within earshot of other players. I'm sure top-notch candidates are just lining up to work here as GM or HC, and I'm equally sure that upcoming free agents are just waiting with bated breath to sign with the Jets.
I've digested this thread for a few hours and I keep coming back to the fact that if I owned a pro sports franchise and had a 17 year old boy there is no way in the world he'd be in the locker room interfering with team affairs LET ALONE handing out game balls or making cringy speeches.
