or get shouted at, the side glances, the raised eyes, the hands in the air when the QB has thrown the ball behind you... Again
First of all we don’t have to trade him. He’s ours for 3 more years plus a franchise tag on the 4th if we want. Second of all, if we do trade him he has no say on where he’s going. Send him Elijah Moore’s phone number and see how he likes Cleveland l.
Nobody wants to be a leader on a sinking ship. Especially if that’s all the ship ever does and there’s no end in site. The Jets are an absolute disaster of a franchise. I keep trying to make people understand. It’s not just about winning and losing, it’s about who you work for and how they behave. I’d GTFO if Woody Johnson was my boss too.
No surprise at all. Can't say we didn't see this coming. Hopefully the Jets get a draft haul from him.
Why do you want to ruin another mans life? They are sportsmen, not slaves, saying that, they literally have no real choice in which team they end up at. It isn't like he has downed tools for us like some players have done, guy wants a genuine chance at winning and who could blame him.
Who’s ruining a life, little dramatic if you asked me. He’s under contract. He signed it. He has no control over where we trade him if we tried to, we are going to take the best offer. While he may think it sucks here, whoever offers us the most might suck even more. Tough shit.
Man, I hope this blows over...he's one of the best players we've had in years, and to lose him to another team would be heartbreaking, to say the least.
Why? Because the kid cares about his career? Folks, I think ya'll need to wake up. This isn't 1999 or even 2005. We're in the NIL Portal world now bitches. These kids COME to the league millionaires and the ONLY thing they want to do is play and win. I expect to see, not only G. Wilson, but every other skill player, worth two shits, ask for a trade. In FACT, the ONLY way I see this turd stain team KEEPING anyone is with the damn franchise tag. And, even then, the player has to SIGN that fucker. Which, if I were them, would never happen. Why risk life, limb and a future of walking upright on an organization destined to lose every single year that Johnson owns this bitch.
You and I are thinking the same way. These kids today. Nowadays, they come into the league already millionaires thanks to the NIL. Money they don't need. These kids are all about their LEGACY. Their NAME!!!! No one, let me repeat that again, NO ONE WANTS to be associated with the NY Jets if they can at all help it. Someone mentioned the Tag. Yeah, well, the team can tag him but the player STILL has to sign that tag. If I were Wilson I would fucking RUN from the Jets.
I think this is a rumor and don't put much stock in it. That said, I wouldn't blame him or any player for wanting out. We've seriously become the place where careers are destroyed. I wouldn't wish us on any young player.
Now that we know for sure that Brick Johnson is running the Jets and he gave GW the game ball last week, he is not going anywhere. As long as his Madden ratings are high, Brick would refuse all the trades and keep bringing girls for him to the locker room.
Garrett Wilson is not like that. For one thing NIL was not signed into law until the summer of his last year at Ohio State and thus he likely didn't get to take advantage of that. Secondly, Wilson could've easily been a "transfer" type. He committed to Urban Meyer at Ohio State but Meyer like he always does, quit on him before he even came to school. Wilson was living in Austin, TX and had an offer in hand for local Texas but he stuck with his commitment. Wilson grew up with a strong family, hes not like some of these kids with "handlers" that float from NIL opportunity to NIL opportunity
A little of subject, but I wonder, would he even get NIL opportunity? And if so how much would it be? This is top 20, not just football, but everywhere: https://1075thefan.com/playlist/top-20-college-athletes-with-the-highest-nil-valuations/item/2 Unless you are absolute top player yes you could make some change, but it does seem better to go to NFL and not lose a year of your prime even with NIL. For a top QB, it may be different. Sanders can make 6 mil next year, and given high QB bust rate in NFL it might actually be worth to stay for an extra year. But if he does succeed in NFL, that 1 lost year will end up costing a lot. Still 6M is a good chunk of change and another year as a God in college.
Having a bad day today ..well news like this can make it worse I keep thinking about the game he singlehanded that pass in the end zone from AR and we ended up winning Save this Beast Tanny!!!! Or whoever does the hiring …sighs 3 xs
