My biggest fear is that we will win another one or two games and Woody will start to think that, “Wow, we’re finally starting to turn this around.” And trot out the same crew next year.
If the GM could draft decent talent after the 1st round, then drafting position wouldn't be so important.
I wanted them to win just to avoid total embarrassment. Jags are one of the few NFL franchises as bad as we are. On top of that, I hate Mac Jones and I'm pretty sure the Jets have never actually beaten Mac Jones as a starter (they played him 4-5 times, I think). Not exactly a win to get excited about but it was a relief. It also showed glimpses of the type of team we could have and SHOULD have been this year.
I always root for them to win, BUT I know this team is dogshit and that they only beat a worse dogshit team.
I'm so sick of beating Jacksonville every time late in dead seasons. We do it every single time and it screws the team every single time, but when the Jets are still in it and the season is live they lose to them.
If ur logic is so twisted that rooting for your team to lose is something that you think is GOOD FOR THE TEAM...
I was unhappy they won but I didn't want them to play for the loss - I wanted them to earn the loss by being awful (which they very nearly did) - to squeak out a win against the Jags playing with a back-up QB tells you all you need to know about this team - one of the SB favourites before the season began which just seems hilarious now - I would've been more concerned had they not already fired the HC and GM as my biggest fear earlier in the season was they win the last few games and decide that things have turned around and they bring everyone back but that's impossible now - there is no generational type player this draft that you want to tank for so I am not that fussed where they pick really - it is all about setting ourselves up to fail miserably in 2026 and get the #1 pick in that draft.
There’s so many ways to look at this: if we were sniffing the playoffs, somehow we would’ve lost this game. But we’re not, so we didn’t lose to an equally scrubby team. I guess that makes us…less scrubby? We’re still scrubby. So I guess it’s good. If we were tanking it cost us a position. What are we at 7? I guess we could work with 7. Somehow if we lucked up and moved up to 1 or 2, Ward or Sanders would end up being trash if we got them. I don’t really feel any kind of way about it. We couldn’t find a way to win when it mattered. I wouldn’t be surprised if we win the rest of our games. I would equally be unsurprised if we lose them all. Either way, we didn’t win when it mattered.
the "experts" dont even know when this occurs. T Lawrence aint generational. They just firehosed our asses wit6h that malarkey. Lamar And Josh ARE and they got tepid reviews pre-draft.
They broke my spirit a long time ago, and I was a devout STH. I still watch the games, and pull for them, but I no longer have any feelings either way about wins or losses.
If I am ever to hope they lose a game, I don't watch it. (Hasn't happened yet) Watching the game and wanting them to lose is the sign of a sick mind. I'll also say this - F the draft hype. How has it worked out for us all these years? So, we hope they lose games so we are in a slightly better position to take the guy who made an eye popping move at the combine, or the 19 year old who had no business turning pro yet. No thanks. Once I turned 50 I realized that there are no future guarantees. I've seen enough Jets losses. I want to see wins. Wins if we're 10-0, wins if we're 1-9. Damn it - I went to every home game when Kotite was the coach. In 96 they lost ALL of them. (Much like the Giants are doing this season heheh)
