My wife and I walked 2.3 miles to watch this game at our local sports bar. Yes, I was rooting for the Jets to win. Is it stupid? Nah, I'm hoping that one day we'll have a competent front office where it doesn't matter where you pick in the draft.
Meh. If I’m gonna invest three hours in front of the TV I want my team to win. Or find some ludicrous unusually hideous way to lose. Sure, long term it’d probably be better for the Jets draft position to lose out, but we completely suck at drafting players and have forever so who really gives a fuck about that? Who else is watching the Bills disembowel the Lions, by the way? The Jets aren’t even playing the same sport.
What did this win prove besides that we are still a undisciplined team who let Mac Jones carve our defense up and that Reddick and Lazard suck? What did beating a terrible Jaguars team with their backup qb prove besides that we suck?
This post-elimination win seems particularly empty to me, as opposed to years past, because the players played mostly the same against a team that was playing worse. Adams blew up but he's a rental and it's hard to even look at him past this season. They still couldn't get the running game going with 3 really good backs and Rodgers tried his best to fuck the game up by forcing the ball every other play and having clock issues. Then they won after trying to hand the game away twice in the 4th when Mac Jones throws the ball directly into Sauce's hands. That interception was the epitome of that win. But hey, maybe we'll hire Doug Pederson.
Didn't watch it. Have no idea how they played, but can't say I'm happy that they won. Of course this group would wait until they're officially eliminated to show up. It's the same thing each and every year and it'll be the same thing next year when we're eliminated around Halloween and then ruin our chance at a quality QB by winning some pointless games down the stretch for the billionth season in a row.
We always win the meaningless games ..it’s like scrub players getting 6 points in Garbage time 4th qtr . Save some face but move back come Draft day That said the Players are paid to win 17 weeks of football no matter what
I am happy we won- how many top 10 draft picks can one team get and still not be successful. This team needs to learn how to win for the younger players, no matter who they play.
I'm glad we won but I didn't care either way. I didn't even bother watching the game. tbh Just highlights. I had a good day without stressing about my favorite team sucking, again. Glad they won, good for em overall. Doesn't matter either way though.
To quote Bob Dylan- I used to care, but things have changed. Whatever this team does, it’s wrong. And so it will always be.
If you can only draft well in the 1st round, your spot in the draft doesn't matter much. Outside of Tippman, I don't think Douglas drafted one decent offensive lineman or wide receiver after the 1st round. And he didn't draft any good tight ends at all.
I was happy because I was there, they played well for the most part, and it was exciting. But in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't matter and I honestly don't care either way. I don't trust them to make the right pick or even hire the right people to make the right pick, so the draft pick is not a concern. Definitely annoyed that they wait until the season is officially over before they start to play well and hang on for a win.
They didn't play well. Despite Rodgers throwing 3 TDs, they nearly lost to a 3-10 Mac Jones QBed Jaguars team. And the last touchdown was an embarrassment to 100+ IQ football.
It's all relative my man. They played her better than they've played most games this year. The bar is very low.
