Shocking video shows UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson gunned down on NYC street
    https://www.foxnews.com/us/shocking...are-ceo-brian-thompson-gunned-down-nyc-street

Pretty wild fucking story. Former police lieutenant on the news said they’re in deep shit ever finding him if it’s not soon and/or he doesn’t have DNA in the system. He likely had a change of clothes in his backpack and I believe they know he disappeared into Central Park which is the only true blind spot for cameras in the city. He could’ve exited anywhere.

Seems like it’s obviously a contract killing. Had a silencer which are effectively illegal in NYS and/or very hard to get.

The only thing that would draw me away from that is his first shot hits the leg? Seems like a hitman hits anything stomach or above with ease at that range.

He seemed to fix the gun jam pretty damn smoothly though.

I haven't seen the whole video, but you hit a person in the torso and it isn't fatal, they usually run immediately.

The sympathy meter is practically zero out there if anyone has read the comments from various outlets. "CEO of United Healthcare shot, claim denied." "Did he check if the hospital was in-network?" Ooof. And those were the mild ones.

People are so angry and fed up with the abuses of the health insurance industry that they're letting a murder victim have it. I don't condone it, but I get it.

So in addition to the normal motives of romantic triangle, bad/shady business dealings, disgruntled employee we now add the fairly common TV series motive of "distraught parent/spouse of patient denied coverage." The widow says he was getting threats but doesn't have details.

This story is something else and as the hours go by it gets more intriguing. Too many things/reasons to list but there's a 50/50 chance IMO that the shooter gets away with this. It's becoming very polarized and gaining a lot of momentum. The shooter is being hailed as a hero if that's any indication of how disgusted people are.

@Ralebird, it was a hit for sure, the question is, did someone put him up to it (paid contract) or not. It sounds very personal to me. I don't think the denial of coverage aspect is a ridiculous assumption.

No use crying over spilled evil people.

The guy runs a company that denies coverage, which causes deaths.
You shall reap, what you sow.
Those who live by the sword, shall die by it.
    Yada, yada, yada.

Killed him on a day of a multi-day investor conference for United Healthcare.

Uh-oh. The cops & the Feds are closing in.

I was hoping the shooter was gonna be the next D B. Cooper of sorts. Bummer.

So if he was a transient I guess he'll at least go down as opening a national conversation that still won't change anything.

Profits are great. Greed to the point of having people die on the regular over arbitrary nonsense, not so much.

Killing people is evil. Parsing whether it's more evil for people to die because corporate profits may be involved or through bullets fired at close range is not a debate for decent people.

Despite updates on the evening news that the shooter has not been identified, with those clear pictures now being distributed I'd have to believe that identifying calls are now pouring in.

We also now know that the victim and his wife do not live together - too much TV and B movies will have us seeing this guy as hired by the wife and the messages on the shell casings only a diversion. Incidentally, two of the three words matched a book title about the insurance industry; it may be interesting to see what postings on forums discussing callous underwriting use the three words on the casings rather than the three in the book title.

All the sloppiness is now drawing me away from it being a contract killing. I don’t think an assassin gets video taped in Starbucks with his face visible and throws garbage out that he touched with his bare hand.

I also don’t think a contract killer drops their cell phone (if it ends up being his and not a burner) by accident in an alley way.

I have discounted contract killing also. This was a personal mission to make a statement, and if you've read what they do know about his movements, sloppy or not, the guy is a ninja and could be in another country right now.

The dirty insider trading the CEO was involved in is a side issue. The only thing that is doing for the public temperature of the murder, right or wrong, is making Brian Thompson even less of a sympathetic figure in the court of public opinion.

Police officers searching a wooded area in Central Park on Friday found a backpack that investigatorsbelieve was ditched by the gunman who fatally shot Brian Thompson, the chief executive of UnitedHealthcare, in Midtown Manhattan, according to two law enforcement officials. That revelation came shortly after the police said they now believe the gunman may have left the city on Wednesday, only hours after of the shooting.

It was still unclear if the murder weapon was in the backpack, but news of its discovery came after the police provided the most detailed timeline yet of the suspect’s furtive activities during a 10-day stay in New York City. At a news briefing on Friday, Joseph Kenny, the Police Department’s chief of detectives, offered a timeline showing that within roughly an hour of the killing, the suspect likely fled town on a zigzag escape route through Manhattan by bike, foot, cab and bus.

Eh, when those people are Nazis it's ok.
We used to give men in this country medals for killing nazis.

I invite you to watch the execution of General Anton Dostler, a soldier who 'murdered' other soldiers. This is truly real crime.
    What you'll see is a moral good/necessity.

The great warrior poet Ice Cube teaches us: "The day that does not require an AK, it is good.
Overall, you're right killing is bad, but some people have to go.
I like it when we fry a serial killer or a traitor.

Anyway, I'm not decent and neither was that fat evil pig who is now taking a dirt nap.
Look at the emptiness in his eyes. He profited on every death of those he insured.
    An evil man.

Fuck em. He's a profiteer of death and a pimp of the state.

I'm almost always wrong. They're 100% going to get him. What's rankling people is the resources being used for this. The FBI is now offering $50K. It's a bad look.

The fact that authorities know the shooter boarded a bus in Atlanta to get here is game over, really. They know who he is. They have all along. I just needed a few days to let that set in.

They will find the guy. I don’t think you can shoot somebody, especially there, and not be caught eventually

Don’t think it was a contract, it was an emotional killing, but he is good with guns
