THIS!!!! I came here to post the same thoughts. Outside of the coaches and GM, there were no football people there. Just some dudes playing rich man's fantasy football. Such a joke.

No one stands a chance of having any success here with this blithering idiot standing behind them telling they have to do this or that.

Even worse and kinda funny is how Woody went all rogue here after this Denver game. Turns out Denver has one of the best defenses in the league this year. That shows you how much this moron knows

Yeah man Hymie is definitely a red motherfucking flag to me, he's a corporate yes man and I think the intermediary between Woody and the football people, meaning everything is run through his filter. That whole situation just seems toxic and corrupt and doomed to fall over and over again. Like it has, over and over again.

Douglas (obviously) isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, so I guess he doesn't realize this could easily backfire on him. In light of this article, if I were an owner I wouldn't even hire him to a low level role because why would I let a backstabber into the organization. There's a reason Gase has been blackballed from the NFL, and Douglas deserves it too.

I have to take all of this with a massive grain of salt. While there's no doubt that Woody has no idea what he's doing, the fact that this is coming out now, and how little sense it actually makes, sounds just like those leaks we heard last year that made the front office look like innocent bystanders to the entire 2023 debacle while pinning the entirety of the blame on the coaching staff. There's a clear agenda here, no question. And while, like I said, Woody is easily one of, if not the, worst owners in the league, the idea that he would want to bench Rodgers just one game removed from him just dominating the Patriots in primetime just doesn't hold a lot of weight in my mind.

These are the reasons why I can’t see the jets attracting anything other than desperate and unqualified candidates at GM and HC. I hope I’m wrong.

Yes ..unfortunately, very true. I appreciate my fellow Posters and die hard fans . I feel very very sorry for Jet fans . And no I don't have an answer because J & J won't sell..sigh

Going forward, this owner Johnson continues to turn off an entire generation of very qualified Coaches . As a matter of fact ,as soon as he became Owner HOF Bellichek ..used a napkin and put his resignation in writing!!!

SO DAMN DEPRESSING>>>its the Titantic hitting the iceberg Season after Season

For all of the meddling Woody supposedly did this season, why couldn't he have meddled in the kicking situation?

No he doesn't. Somebody needs to light Woody up with all the truth bombs possible. I could care less about him telling the truth about an idiot owner who was looking to ruin JD's reputation because he forced JD's hand to do shit he wouldn't have done otherwise.

I don't agree with this take at all. Dude should be praised. IMO

I believe the only blackballing of Gase was self-inflicted in exposing himself as incompetent. There is no indication anyone involved in the NFL cares enough about him to collude against him.

This whole "Woody demanded benching of Rodgers" kind of refutes all those claims that the decision to bring Rodgers to the Jets was solely that of Johnson.

BTW - if the owner demanded anything of the sort it would have happened. Asking about the ramifications of benching him is at the other end of the spectrum - the truth, no doubt, lies somewhere in between.

    THIS!!! 1000 times over.

When I lose confidence in my accountant, I don't start doing my own finances. When I lose confidence in my contractor, I don't start building my own house. When I lose confidence in my wife.... ok I take care of that myself. But I am qualified for that.

I don't care how many excuses we want to give for how bad the GM was, and he was pretty bad in a lot of ways, this was not the right way to do it. You don't take control of the wheel yourself, drive the bus off the cliff, and then try and make everybody believe you had nothing to do with it and you're just a victim.

I can't even begin to tell you how tired I am of people throwing out the fact that they made two AFC championships games. Big fucking deal. This franchise is so downtrodden and its fans are so jaded and suffering from Stockholm syndrome that failing to a lesser degree is considered success.

"At least". "Better than what we have"

    Aim higher.

Most posters on this board got exactly what they wanted. Finally, Woody is listening to you. Hire Benigno and just get it over with.

To paraphrase...you, when Johnson lost faith in his GM, he didn't start managing the team himself - he put Savage in charge temporarily and the search has begun for a replacement. The timing works in favor of the Jets getting a new GM in place, or at least lined up in time to make a good head coach choice and then attack the draft - a head start other teams have not given themselves yet.

I'm not happy about Woody holding Jets fans hostage, making idiotic moves and interfering where he shouldn't.

It sucks knowing that we're all caught on this never ending treadmill of losing. Sure bowing out in both shots at getting to the big dance was devastating. But the Jets did get there.

I merely tried to look on the bright side and point out that this hard luck team under this shoddy ownership can get back to the big game and this time author a better ending.

"Always look on the bright side of life."

    Go Jets.

I disagree. They just like to put out bombshell reports. Like last year they out out a bombshell that Saleh asked Zach to start and he refused. When I actually examined the timeline, according to the report he asked him to start AFTER he already declared Boyle as a starter publicly. They have sources, I am sure they didn't just make it all up, but these source don't seem to be reliable at all and have an agenda.

As far as the sources for this one, I wonder who the source might be., "Douglas took the elevator down to the lower level, went to the visitor’s locker room, grabbed his bag and retreated to the team bus where he sat, alone, during the game’s final moments."

Spot on. Even Blatt himself is walking some of it back now as people pointed out logical fallacies. He is now the title of his own article (JD never stood a chance) is actually not what he meant and JD should have been fired on merit. And also he is doubting benching Rodgers comment was serious as events that took place after (like trading for Adams) did not really corroborate that. It's almost as if he didn't even write this article or doesn't really believe his own writing... This is all for clicks, even though I completely agree - there is some "source". Jus the one you can't really trust to tell the full story.
