Hate as a player… as a human being I’m sure his family is proud of him, win lose or draw.
I was thinking he should go to safety, because I don’t think he has the agility to play corner, but he would miss too many tackles.

We thought we had another Revis but he’s Cro with no kick return skills.

I think people are being a little bit hard on Sauce. He played at a pro bowl level the last 2 years. I totally understand that he needs to fix a few things, like his tackling and needs to bulk up, but the majority of the issues are on coaching.

The guy clearly isn't Revis, but he CAN get back to that pro bowl level if he can focus better and maybe study more film. I do get Cromartie vibes from him. I think he's better at playing zone and locking down 1 side of the field instead of mirroring top WRs.

The thing is you HAVE to trade him after this year because I am afraid no free agrent worth a damn will honestly want to come here. We need draft capital and need to build again. I fear we will have another Trumaine Johnson situation on the open market.

Suce, thank you, but we failed on the rebuild so we need to move you for some value.

He's still a good player, he's just checked out and longingly looking at real estate prices in 30 other cities.

Sauce in all actuality is two of two things. He's really good, yet not a game changer. We all know he can't tackle. He honestly might be the worst tackling CB I've ever seen. I wouldn't blame him if he doesn't want to resign with this organization, nor would I be mad if he was traded.

    Too soon to tell.

He could be a very different player next year if he puts the work in to get better.

Clearly our coaching staff is doing nothing to help the lad.

I could see that happening. Sauce could probably net the Jets a couple firsts if he's trade but I think it may be a bit premature to move on from him after what he did the first 2 years.

I want to see how Gardner looks with a new coaching staff

Obviously I wouldn't give him a big extension at this point, but I think trading him would be a mistake. Maybe a new coach has a completely different plan for him, like for example, man coverage lol. Shoot even blitzing him once in awhile with those long arms to create a turnover or at least inject some life into his game.

Its sad/infuriating to watch him these days I get it

everyone is frustrated and emotional and wants to clean house

my suspicion is his poor play has more to do with teams attacking his weaknesses and we're doing nothing to adjust.

feel pretty confident every good team in the league would love to have sauce, garrett, breece etc and find ways to get them thrive.

Let’s see him show some pride over the course of the rest of the season and improve his play. Because if you’re going to add quitting on the team in his 3rd year on top of being soft and lazy there’s no reason to think he’ll ever put in the work to improve his game.

Unless we’re in contention for a title you never ever give a big contract to a DT or a CB.

He’s becoming a cancer on and off the field with publicly blaming other players and being a poor teammate. He has since started to even blast the fans. He takes 0 accountability for anything and is a total “me” player. He doesn’t take his craft seriously and isn’t a complete player like Revis was.

I get that but I just think Gardner is bored out there. They put him in zone coverage on his side only, same shit every week.

He's supposed to be this great talent so they should use him that way. Challenge him and put him on an island with top wideouts. Blitz him. Idk get creative with him, you can find anyone to line up and cover a zone.

I think we would see a more engaged player in Gardner if they tapped into that.

Having a lanky CB that can cover but can't tackle play zone is stupid....

With the poor coaching and the play of his teammates, the trade value for Sauce is at an all time low.

We bring in new coaches, give the guy another training camp and then we can still cut him loose before the trade deadline if things don't work out.

Way too soon for this thread as we are not extending him this year.

Garrett is another story, I want him here for life.

So we need to ask, does he actually have a physical problem tackling or is he simply not motivated by himself or his coaches to do it?

Maybe the coaches that see him practice everyday knows he’s a walking pass interference, so that’s why he’s playing more zone now.

Tackling is mental. He prides himself on being smart. I wonder if his mind is more focused on his health and safety rather than possibly injuring his brain or neck. He’s looking at his future, i do t think that involves movies or tv due to his slurred speech. but maybe he can be trained to improve that. I guess if Shaq can do it so can he.
