I can't wait to see what we have in store for Jordan Love in 15 or so years.

Then again, the former-Packer, future-Hall-of-Fame QB experiment for the Jets has gotten so exponentially worse from Favre to Rodgers that maybe the drop off to Love would be so great that it might come out the other side and result in the greatest Jets team ever.

Payed for Aaron Rodgers, got Aaron Rod-Gers, the B rate knockoff toy in the kids isle at the grocery store.

It's almost as if Douglas used up every bit of negotiating prowess he had on that Jamal Adams trade to Seattle. Based on all of the other results he's had, it's really dumbfounding how he was able to pull that off.

Amazing article today on ESPN: Inside Aaron Rodgers' complicated relationship with the Jets - ESPN

A couple things stood out to me.

    On the Mike Williams debacle:

"Rodgers' description of the play, on its surface, was extremely compelling. He was opening a window so many fight to keep closed. But it was also a serious breach of etiquette: football etiquette, quarterback etiquette, locker room etiquette. The impact of Rodgers saying, bluntly, "He's got to be down the red line," were close to shocking. Nobody does this -- any of it -- and the mind immediately traveled from the words Rodgers was saying to how Williams would digest them.

It underscored the friction between the artist and those around him. Rodgers' ongoing torment of "bringing guys along" and "being a better leader" and "setting the tone" always carries an undercurrent of superiority, a verbal pat on the head. Even his default sideline look after a failed drive is almost always that of a disappointed dad."

On the (clearly broken) dynamic with young players:

"The driving force in me wanting to play my best is not wanting to disappoint him," says the youngest player in the NFL, rookie running back Braelon Allen, who grew up in Wisconsin watching Rodgers and the Packers"

    AND

They speak of him like he's a famous piece of art. In the hollow quiet of the Jets' locker room, Breece Hall said, "We just gotta do a better job of servicing him and making the game as easy for him as possible."

    ----

Rodgers needs to retire, this is a disaster. Allen and Hall, or any young player for that matter, aren't in the NFL to "service" Rodgers.

I kinda understand now why it appears Breece Hall was playing with less urgency all season. Whatever he used to motivate himself before- desire to be the best, fame, money, whatever... has been replaced by this line of thinking.. not disappointing Rodgers. fuck that

Rodgers needs to go. He's having a detrimental effect on the team. NO WAY I want him back next year anymore. Dude is way too complicated, too many demands with no results. 100% have to start fresh

The only way we can follow up Aaron Rodgers is with Danny Dimes. Next year will be colorful and dumb.

    rom same article...
what Rodgers said after the Jets beat the Patriots on a Thursday night to move to 2-1 on the season....Rodgers said
, "Our biggest struggle is going to be handling success."

turns out the biggest struggle was his ego and his abysmal QBing.

Guy is washed at this point, he has become a dink and dunk quarterback, what happened to throwing the ball downfield? Why has he stopped doing that? We coulda kept Zack Wilson for the dink and dunk offense, why not try taylor at this point?

Rodgers told his punter boyfriend that he “thinks” he wants to return in 2025

hard to tell though, I “think” they are desperately trying to keep that segment with Rodgers relevant as people abandon ship. so anythin he says from here on out is just acting

They should just switch to his political aspirations and feuds with late night hosts. Football doesn't seem to be much of a priority the more you see of the guy.

    Exactly

He should start a feud with Ken Jennings. I’d love to see him quit the Jets and host Jeopardy anyway
