Time Bandits on Apple+. I'm only on Ep2 but it's a really tight production with excellent writing. It's getting to where I'll watch anything Taika Waititi is involved with, the guy is just awesome. Don't expect another bunch of little people though, they replaced them with Lisa Kudrow and a bunch of guys I don't know, but they are doing a good job so far. The kid that plays the main character is actually named Kal-El. Edit: actually this is falling apart and getting annoying pretty quickly. Lisa Kudrow sucks the most. Edit2: this sucks, don't watch it
Hah! I love the evolution of this post. I’m with you on Taika Waititi but steering clear of this one now. I got a recent recommendation for Drops of God on AppleTV. Hadn’t heard of it. I tuned in and immediately quit when I saw subtitles and didn’t have the patience in that sitting. The description makes it sound a little pretentious. Unique storyline, though. Guy dies and leaves his $100 million wine collection to either his estranged daughter or his favorite student - they have to compete in a winner-takes-all wine tasting contest.
I think I must have hit my threshold for annoying right at the moment I clicked submit on that post, because that was the moment it started to suck... and just got worse... fast. I almost pulled the trigger on Drops of God a couple times, maybe soon if I don't put the brakes on the streaming.
Even though I think the number of strong, capable women on television these days is disproportionate and unrealistic - The Diplomat, Season 2 = solid. And the crazy-good ending has me eager for Season 3. .
I'm shocked that season 2 was greenlit. That show sucks. I'm halfway through Fallout and it is one of the best things I've watched all year. Arcane s2 is really good so far, too. I guess shows based on video games aren't automatically crap anymore.
Aaron Moten stole the whole thing for me when I was expecting Walton Goggins to do that. He really, really pulled off the flawed anti-hero better than most of the attempts I've ever seen.
Was really not expecting that ending. I had watched season 1 episode 1 way back last year and never got back to it. Started again last week and glad I did.
I binged the whole thing in 2 days and the final episode of s2 snuck up on me because I was expecting 8 episodes. Excellent casting and acting. Kerri Russell and Rupert Sewell are both great in everything I see them in.
I'm halfway through the first episode of Tomorrow and I (Thailand's take on Black Mirror). It's very beautiful, great cinematography. And painfully stupid. I'll finish the first episod3 but there are too many plot holes for me.
Yes, those 2 were cast perfectly. I almost didn't watch this because it didn't grab me in the 1st 20 minutes of episode 1, I really need to stick with my 3 episode minimum before i drop a show.
Netflix - "Carry On" is a must see. Well-developed drama that keeps you engaged throughout the movie. You won't be sorry spending 90mins watching this.
