they couldn't tackle before he became the HC. so, the current defense non-performance is no real surprise. no gas, and no brakes.
That would have been a very Jets thing to do when their season ended January 8. Give every other team a three week head start.
While he should have definitely been gone the second our last season ended, let's recognize that the current slide started with him still here. Yes, Brick turned out to be just as bad, maybe even a bit worse, but Saleh wasn't taking this team anywhere. He has a proven losing record every single season he has been here, including early part of this year. Brick turned out no better, but one thing I do not regret is getting rid of a 4 season loser HC.
It’s beyond maddening how bad we are at this. We must be leading the league in pre snap bullshit penalties (delay of game, false start, illegal formation)…these are not effort penalties or judgement penalties … these are BASIC fucking shit, and the fact that we do this SO damn much is just the sign of a BAD team. Bad coaching. Everything. Bad teams hurt themselves and good teams don’t. Period. To me, this is a HUGE indictment on the offensive coaches.
The sole reason why the OCS is in place is Aaron Rodgers. The sole reason why we can't get plays off in time is that Rodgers changes every play he doesn't like as if he's the OC. Everything that isn't Woody's fault probably could be traced to Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers was and still is the kiss of death for this franchise.
Here is what I don’t understand. Ulbrich is playing with house money. Was a fired up backwards wearing hat dude as DC, becomes head coach and is all of a sudden Bowles and Saleh combined. If you are going down in flames do it your way. If this is Ulbrich way, then he should never, ever be a head coach and go somewhere that he can be a DC on a team that has. Head coach DC. At least fight.
Bro he totally needed a guy to pull him back just like McVay, bro. He's a real passionate guy, bro. He makes that whole stadium his stair machine, bro.
Firing Saleh and promoting Ulbrich to HC didn't make sense in the beginning. It's basically the same exact thing, except Ulbrich now has dozens of new responsibilities on top of what he was already doing. It was a stupid panic move and it changed nothing whatsoever about the team. Maybe they should bring in an offensive minded head coach for once.
Agreed, it changed nothing, maybe even made defense slightly worse. But then not making the move would also be shit. There was a small chance the move would spark the team, but it didn't, so we are in the same boat. Largely nothing lost, nothing gained, it was a long shot anyway, but worth a shot. The move to clean house and bring better coaching was supposed to be made the minute the last season was over.
BROHHHHHHH I'm not gonna lie... I was fired up when he got hired. Was thinking it would be REX with muscles....
It was like when they used the look of lead sleds to push the PT Cruiser, until you walked up to it and realized it was a Dodge Neon.
The team was 2-3 with a chance to take first place with a win over the Bills when Saleh was fired. So there was something lost.
We were on the slide already. Saleh was a proven HC loser. I am just not buying the argument he would be able to turn this around based on 3+ years of his incompetent HC history. Brick wasn't yet a proven HC loser at the time.
