Rob Demovsky on X: "Recently fired Jets coach Robert Saleh is at Packers practice. Long history between him and Matt LaFleur. Also has worked with Jeff Hafley. We’ll hear from LaFleur after practice if he’s hired Saleh in some capacity. That’s him on the far sideline watching the offense. https://t.co/JjOFAv1iLa" / X
Saleh will help with the Packers’ offense by using his defensive knowledge. Something maybe he should’ve tried here…
He probably wanted to, but Hackett is such a hopeless spaz that he couldn't make a dent. But he's also such a beta that he was afraid to offend Lord Aaron by doing what his own firing resulted in anyway. I mean even now you can see poor play calling that reeks of his influence and they already publicly took away those duties.
JD and Woody wanted Rodgers to make up for the horrendous decisions made at QB, and Hackett was hired as a result. I don't think Saleh was afraid of rubbing Rodgers or Hacketts feathers wrong at all, he was fired after all wasn't he? I'm pretty sure he did exactly that. JD and Woody are the problem. Saleh's biggest issue was that he wasn't a solution to that problem, which was one tall fucking order.
I was initially going to post it was a great move for both them and him. Didn't end up being a good HC fit here given our inability to put a competent OC or offense in place, but dude can coach defense and our defense has certainly looked worse off without him. Then I read he was coming in there to do absolutely zero mingling with the defensive side of the ball stuff and was like....uhhh, ok.
