I’m usually an analytic guy but after watching every 50/50 ball go Pittsburgh’s way and that ball bounce off of Garrett Wilson’s chest into a db’s hands to have talent filled team drop to 2 and 5 there’s only one explanation for all of it…Joe Namath is still alive!
Jet fans are adrift. This shit show game occurring a day after I got my warning about season ticket prices being posted October 23 and due November 15. Am I entertained? That money and all the time, effort and hand wringing that goes with being a Jet fan just does not seem worth it. No way I could get near face value for these fucking PSLs. I don’t believe any team Tanks on purpose but with the Jets being so bad for all these years you would think we would have tons of great talent like the Lions do. Ulbricht is outclassed by experienced opposing team coaches. Woody injects his player picks valuing the antiques in this league over the youth available. Time to push away from the table. This menu sucks.
And the situation that happened in too. That pass was beautiful and the pretty much textbook definition of a "perfectly thrown ball" I still can't believe they lost that Broncos game, and sitting here 10 hours or whatever its been since that pass I'm still not sure I've accepted it yet. What a brutal season. I think the Jets are starting to break my spirit lol.
Denver is actually looking like a decent team. It surprised me when they beat these Jets but maybe it shouldn’t have. They are better
I didn’t expect a win here but it wasn’t like the Broncos game where I was sure they’d lose. As busted as this organization already is, that interception was a devastating blow.
Jets might be one of the weakest up-the-middle teams in the NFL. Bad Oline, weak Dline. LBs are meh. On top of that, the skill players and difference makers the Jets claim to have -- can't make the tough play needed to win games. And the coaches don't have an idea what's wrong. You can tell by their body language.
I watch these idiots in PIT always wanting to fire Tomlin. I would literally trade our entire roster for Tomlin right now.
The Jets must be a polarizing coaching job. Fix the Jets - even just get them back to the playoffs for a season - and you’re a legend here. More likely, go to the Jets, set your career back years if not ruin it.
It seems to me that no matter who they bring in as coach, that person cannot make half-time adjustments. Seemingly every other coach in this league can. It's insane.
This is a big intangible, and one reason talented rosters fail. I used to talk about drafting champions and people acted like it was BS. There is a difference between talented players and players who are champions, at heart. Those players might not be the top skill guys but they make the plays in crunch time. They always deliver in big games, often play beyond their talent. Their not satisfied with anything but winning. Shun loser mistakes and thoughts that losing teams get infected with, and do the dirty work to accomplish it. What you get in practice you get on gameday. You get a few of those guys to make the core and the culture spreads to everyone - and you don't choke in big games. We need to draft a championship core.
I can get behind this and for a while that seemed like that was the plan. We were drafting or getting young or cheap obscure talent and it seemed to be working. It seemed to work well on defense. We had a playoff caliber defense (maybe we still do) but an anemic offense. It’s been like that for years. I used to joke in the game threads we had peanut butter, no jelly, ham no burger. Then we had a talented offense with no QB. I mean…Wilson was missing check downs. If only we could get a competent QB we could go places. That was the consensus. It’s looking more and more like that was just surface level stuff. There’s something far far worse going on here. Why is it players we thought were trash go elsewhere and are playing fine? We keep seeing this over and over. I know someone’s reading this saying it’s Woody. I’m finally on that train. It’s this guy. He doesn’t know football and isn’t letting someone who knows football make all of the decisions. He keeps sticking his hands in something he knows nothing about affecting decisions and it’s causing catastrophic failures. How do you get a man that owns a unicorn that shits gold(an nfl team) to sell? Thats the fix. The only fix. We are heading towards a disaster that’s going to take years to make right. With him owning the team, the chances are high that we’ll be in the same place we’re in again in six years.
Of course they are better. They have an honest to goodness real life COACHING staff. Next we'll see Zach Wilson, after being under the watchful tutelage of Sean Payton, tear apart the league for the next decade playing for a team like the Rams when Stafford retires. It would be the most Jetsiest thing of all time.
