"Thinking is Overrated"

This is hilarious.

Charitably - I could see how maybe he meant that he's been too slow to pull the trigger on coaching changes in the past.

Uncharitably - This is indicative of Woody's complete inability to think in a nuanced way. The most recent and egregious example of this being us not improving at HC+OC after last season, using the Rodgers injury as a scapegoat.

 

I mean, if you're doing something that needs momentary reaction like driving for NASCAR or playing football then instincts are great.

If you are planning for the future success of a multi-billion dollar sports franchise, then forethought is kind of necessary.

Just Woody continuing to be so inadequate that it's comical.

 

Fuck Woody Johnson. He's an awful owner and an awful human being. Firing Saleh in a knee jerk reaction proves his incompetency, that should have been Joe Douglas' decision. They should have taken Hackett off play calling, yes, but firing Saleh 5 games in definitely shows that thinking is not Woody's strong suit. Ulbrich needs to focus on the defense and stopping the run, not running the whole team.

 

Firing Saleh was a knee-jerk reaction? We lost 2 out of every 3 games during his 3+ year tenure, and he had a decently talented roster for much of it. Certainly much better talent than Gase had to work with.

I agree Woody is an idiot but firing Saleh was absolutely the right move. Woody's mistake was actually not firing him and Hackett after last season.

 

Woody sucks but obviously that quote was an attempt at a joke

"Thinking is overrated". Woody just revealed his superpower. He's not only clueless, he's unthinking. I guess when you're born on 3rd base and score you can think "Hey this game ain't hard!".

There should be absolutely no doubt in anyone's mind why this team has sucked under his ownership.

If I had any photoshopping skill I'd rework the old Alfred E. Neuman picture with "What, me worry?" to show Woody's face and his now iconic quote, "Thinking is overrated" on it. Classic!
