Honestly, I think people watch too mana drama shows and get caught up in the absurd. Saleh was fired because Woody wanted to fire him.
Pre-show prep conversation: McAfee - "So what's off limits today?" Rodgers - "I plan to just lie on what was said within the Woody conversation in the unforseen event anybody out there could end up proving that it happened, and basically just give a mostly spin away non-answer on the my current thoughts on Saleh as a HC. Talk more about how I like his kid and family and blah blah blah. But listen up, make sure there is absolutely no direct mention or questioning from you or your staff on Hackett or my potential involvement in keeping him employed. I don't want that acknowledged period". McAfee - "Sounds good on the Saleh stuff, but i mean c'mon Aaron. Even a lot of most gullibe fanboys are starting to read the room and ask the burning question on how or why Hackett wouldn't have been fired even before Saleh. I gotta give them something here or I'm gonna look like an even bigger shill then usual". Rodgers - "I said NO Hackett questions damn it. Off limits no matter how burning of a issue it is right now. McAfee - "Yes sir"
Agreed. And honestly, what would be so wrong if he asked his highest paid future Hall of Fame player if he’s lost the locker room or not? QB’s are the coach on the field and in the locker room. I don’t know why people feel like they need to be so up in arms if that happened.
Nothing to be learned here. Rodgers says what he thinks puts him in the best light, accurate or not. Ho hum.
I'm assuming that nobody bothered to watch the whole thing. The really interesting stuff begins at 12:30.
I agree with the take on the media generally creating too much drama, but this situation stinks to me. There’s absolutely no way that Rodgers and Woody talked the night before (when they never do that) and woody mentioned nothing about firing the coach the next morning. No way. You have an aging former franchise qb who wants to win now, and you don’t gauge his feelings or inform him before ESPN does that his HC is being fired after only 5 games? What was the purpose of the outlier phone call then, “how did you like London?” Come on. Both of them are straight up lying when there’s no reason to. There’s nothing wrong with telling your franchise qb that you are going to fire the coach and warning him before he sees it on twitter. Their lies is what creates the media shark frenzy.
