Players underperforming

    I actually completely disagree. Football is not baseball in that you can always try to play the percentages and end up in a good situation at the end based on what the data says the outcome should be.

    There is so much more emotion and momentum in football that can’t be quantified with analytics. There also aren’t enough 4th and 1 or 2 situations over the course of a season for the data to ensure the results and up in your favor based on X results.

    I bring up baseball because it’s generally valid with baseball. There are so many games that you can play percentages over an entire season and it will work out in your favor in a net positive based on sheer volume. I also don’t think there’s anywhere near enough emotion/momentum in regular season baseball as compared to football.
