I was the first to rail on him over the years and after week one but he’s definitely developed and looks good.
I mentioned how well he was playing during the Bronco game. I guess he's fully back from his Achilles tear.
I propose a new idea… no appreciation post till we actually start winning games we should win Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I said to my buddies earlier this season that I thought he was better than Mosley anyway. Still think that. Sent from my genius mind.
I think he's Mosley's replacement next year. He's slowed down and would be hard to keep at that salary. Great he's stepped into the role so well. For what it's worth, he's PFF's top-rated LB Hey, a positive for Joe Douglas, the defensive coaching staff, and player development!!!
if only the offensive staff was able to produce like the defensive side… MC2, Echols, Sherwood, WM have all improved during their time with the Jets so far. I could name more but it’s early and I didn’t have coffee yet.
JS is due a new contract after this year. Perfect timing for a breakout season --- maybe we should start talking to him now. Certainly would make it easier to let Mosley & his big $$ go in 2025.
Sherwood is the 4th leading tackler in the NFL, but is he an effective MLB? Saleh's D philosophy emphasized speed over size and Sherwood, a converted safety, is the personification of that tact. As we all know tackles as a stat has little meaning if your consistently getting torched for 5-7 yards a pop rushing. Despite the numbers, I think Sherwood is too small to play MLB.
It’s hard to use tackles as a metric when the run defense is kind of shitty. He seems like a decent player though.
Put a fatty in front of him, he'd be even better. Still sucks that the staff didn't feel the need to get a big beefy body to help with the run defense.
