He played in high school and then at a small-time college. That doesn't make him qualified, just based on his OL experience, to evaluate NFL talent. He's proven incapable of this for six years now.

That goes for just about anything from harbor freight.

I know you were being sarcastic.

But it's also a common thing that I see in defense of Douglas as well from people who are being serious about it.

I've better luck picking HF tools, than JD has done with picking players and coaches...

His list of catastrophic decisions is quite spectacular:
    • Deciding to trade Sam and draft Zach, as if Zach was going to be a huge upgrade.
    • Not having any depth at QB behind Zach.
    • Frantically trading for old Joe Flacco when Zach (inevitably) got injured.
    • Watching Mike White replace Zach and throw for 315, 369 and then 268 yds before getting injured v Buffalo, then deciding that our OC, offensive line coach and Mike White were the problem, and keeping Zach.
    • Throwing a Hail Mary to get Rodgers.
    • Not having any depth at QB behind Rodgers.
    • Not frantically trading when Rodgers (inevitably) got injured, and instead going with Zach again.

And that’s ignoring the tiny niggles, like our offensive line being a constant shambles or Riddick or the JFM trade or cutting our best kicker in preseason. Or the rubbish drafting. Or a September record of 4-15. Or even him overseeing an utter shambles of a coaching staff.

He’s been here 6 years, he’s been allowed to draft a QB at number 2 AND trade the farm for another QB, he’s hired his own coach, and he’s yet to hit the giddy heights of John Idzik’s 8-8 season.

At some point, it’d be nice to see some results on the field.

From the very beginning many here knew trading Darnold and drafting another QB instead of using that high pick to trade down and build the offensive was a terrible idea. Regardless, if Darnold was still here, he'd still suck. Jets can't develop QBs, one of the worst in the business, period.

This one really stings. LaFleur was so much more creative than any OC we've had in a very long time. The issue was clearly that Zach couldn't complete even the shortest/simplest throws.

Imagine LaFleur still being here along with Bowers?

You left out the part of him hiring Saleh.

This is by far the worst offseason jd has to date way worse than drafting Zack Wilson and bechton

Letting jfm go our only run stopper for nothing

    Tyron smith- washed

    Mike Williams- washed

kinlaw- sucks and dumbest player in the nfl

Just giving Phil a free 3rd round pick for a dumbass who doesn’t want to play for us

Has anyone seen Malachi Corley? He must be to stupid to learn the playbook like some of his past wr picks

Olu looks like he sucks while bowers is tearing it

Add drafting a Tackle who barely plays instead of a top 3 TE to the list as well.

I didn’t even realize Douglas has been here 6 years now.

One of the worst parts of his tenure is the team hasn’t shown any significant improvement.

There is absolutely no justification for keeping this moron under any conditions. His garbage expired a long time ago.

    Joe Has to Go.

Douglas sucks. The fact that after all of his scrutiny, he comes out and whiffs on Malachi Corley, is insane.

One other thing, this Reddick thing is a major black eye. That’s 24mm of cap not being used this year.
