Yeah we need to mortgage our future for a 32 year old injury hampered Adams he will save as our season as he will fix Hackett's and Salehs incompetence, because Saleh and Jd need to keep ther jobs, offer 2 2nd's and a pick swap to the raiders like they did for Rodgers, while no one is offering more than a 3rd, that should for sure seal the deal, who cares at this point when Jd and Saleh won't be around to draft anyways.

Brock bowers 8 for 97 with a 57 yard touchdown from a shit quarterback while our offense stinks and Olu is getting Rodgers killed, good job JD don't let the door hit your fatass out.

yeah Bowers looks like the real deal. I wonder if the Jets could figure out how to use him? I'm skeptical. Probably only use him for inline blocking on 2 TE sets as a rookie, just to let his skillset waste while he "develops all the tools".

It's all a moot point. Bowers would suck if he'd been drafted here. Fashanu would go on to be the next D'Brickashaw Ferguson anywhere else.

When Fashanu doesn't play above replacement level, it sure should make everyone question his selection. I mean the premise was that we need to keep Rodgers upright at all cost, because something will happen to our old starting OTs, who were both out a lot last year. Now, something did happen as expected, but Olu didn't help keep Rodgers upright. It's a miracle he sustained only small injuries so far, to his knee and ankle, but that could have been and most likely will be a lot worse soon if this continues.

Now, I do feel a lot has to do with coaching. It is a bit disturbing that as soon as Moses goes down replaced by Olu this happened, but it also coincides with facing a lot more blitz packages, where the OL does not know what to do. Running game was shit even in the first few games too. Pass pro fell apart with Moses going down and the team facing more blitzes. Still though, if Olu is not able to help, it is fair to say we lost out on a lot of other opportunities, like Brock, and also some of us wanted Thomas Jr on a trade down if not OT. Both are playing really good. Our top two picks so far provided nothing above replacement.

I’m asking honestly because I watched a bunch of film vs DEN and Fashanu looked solid. AVT looked like trash, it’s shocking how poorly he played. Same for Tyron Smith who honestly looks atrocious. What makes you say Fashanu specifically is playing so poorly? The whole OL as a unit looks terrible but everything I watch it (sadly) looks like Fashanu is the best player on the line. He was up against Cooper (0) most of the day and seems to have stood him up well. I haven’t watched this last game in detail yet. I’m not doubting you, but I just don’t see that Fashanu is playing as awful as tou indicate. Can you point out a couple plays?

Not sure about Denver but he got pushed around yesterday.

It’s hard to zoom in on any particular player sometimes though because the whole pocket seems to collapse rather quickly.

I would need to go back and look at specific plays, but I do remember him giving pressures as well in both games, just like others did. If you have any film that you found I can look at, please do share. We can then analyze if this was more coaching or him in particular, or maybe others more at fault. This is not to shit on the guy, but to make a point that overall OL sucked, and that is not sustainable. Some stats here.

Not to rub it in but Bowers is currently the 6th highest rated blocking TE according to PFF. PFF isn't the end all be all but just something to consider for the "he can't block" crowd. Our 3 TEs are all near the bottom of the league in blocking.

Bowers also still leads the league in receiving among TEs by the way. He has more receiving yards than any WR on our team.

It's also not a stretch to say that Rodgers might be healthier if he had a reliable YAC receiver he could throw quick passes to at the LoS.

Just another terrible decision by the Jets. We needed receiving and blocking help. If only there were a position that offers both and an absolutely elite prospect for that position...

Just another example of Joe Douglas' ineptitude. Now he will have to make up for his poor decision by trading ultra-important draft capital for a WR. Completely unnecesary and avoidable. That's the epitome of robbing Peter to pay Paul. Or robbing Brock to pay Davante. These reactive moves after Douglas originally fucked up will be his ultimate demise and shit canning at season's end.

Look what I found: Olu's every play from Minny game All 22. Let me know what you think. Also since Olu played almost all snaps, you can see the rest of the line too.

He did have a few fuck ups in pass pro, got beat a few times, and got completely tossed on some of the running plays. He should do better, but perhaps not as bad as I originally thought watching live. Maybe because others fucked up even more. What do you guys think?

That was interesting to watch. Thanks for posting.

Did you notice where Olu was (literally) 1 step away from potentially saving they day by almost cutting off Van Ginkel from returning the TD. Like a lot of things Jets it was that close but came up short.

Good video. I always get worried when tackles are getting ragdolled (rookie or not) though. It tells they’re either severely technically off-balanced (chest over feet, lunging, etc.) or they’re not strong enough.

I think he has very inconsistent technique. His pass drops are all very all over the place. He doesn’t look like he gets anywhere near enough depth on his right drop set and then as a result has to turn his shoulders to avoid getting ran around the corner. I saw the same thing in college at Penn State and didn’t like him much as a prospect to be honest. I preferred Fuaga.

    It’s coachable though.

Honestly the Jets should move him to guard when Moses is back so he keeps playing. Bump Simpson out if you need to. I hate the idea of getting the tackles feet wet and then sending him back to the bench gulag.

Olu looks like he lost weight since the draft. That happens a lot to rookies trying to adjust their bodies to the NFL lifestyle. He looks lighter and weaker and spent too much time on the ground.

He does have quicker feet than I thought though which helps him stay in front of his man. I dont think guard is in the cards for him myself, those are big big boys that play guard
