Both has started slow but so far Hall underwhelmed me more than G. Wilson. At least Wilson makes opposing defenses key in on him helping other Jets players be open. Hall didn't really do much so far. With that said, biggest disappointment is the coaching staff who can't create a game plan that utilizes their strengths.
Hall just looks Leveon Bell like slow. He just seems to have no elusiveness or burst. He is now 2 years off ACL surgery and you would think he would be back to his old self. Add that to the drops and missing obvious blocking assignments and hes been a disappointment so far.
They both suck. Hall can't break a tackle and Wilson is running around like a chicken with his head cut off. How does he have two thousand plus seasons receiving with Zach Wilson and looks like a complete neophyte with the future Hall of famer? You can throw Sauce in there too. All three of them need to get their shit together fast.
Because Defenses play Zach Wilson in a way that dared him to throw to Garrett. They stacked the box with 8 with a single high Safety. On top of that many plays broke down and GW was improvising on broken plays. Garrett didn’t need to be precise with ZW. With Rodgers the D is playing more traditionally and guarding Wilson like a true #1. This requires GW to be precise in recognizing a D and altering his routes accordingly. He’s clearly not got that mental aspect down yet, and that’s now rearing its ugly head.
You don't need a competent offensive coaching room when you have Aaron Rodgers as your QB. Or so I had told to me 3948564 times here over the last year and as I was constantly being pointed out as an Aaron Rodgers "hater" anytime I argued against that above
Hall looks like he’s playing not to get injured, which will probably get him injured. They should try to get him matched up with TE’s more and run him AFTER Braelon has worn the DL down.
The correct answer here is neither btw. Once you got past the delusion that a 40yo Aaron Rodgers was going to be some magic fix to a historically bad offensive system, both are great players stuck in bottom'ish tier and poorly coached offenses. Like we are seeing with Sam Darnold today...systems and their relationship towards posting better statistical #'s matter. When you get stuck in the gutter those #'s are likely to suffer. Stick Garrett Wilson on KC and his #'s probably look like Rashee Rice's atm. Stick Breece Hall on SF and he's looking like Mason or even maybe CMC. Our own offense is just that uncreatively bad and limited atm. Rodgers ain't the issue, but he can only do so much to offset that much bad, and it clearly isn't enough to avoid these conversations.
Yes, this is my answer. I can't tell you what they are doing wrong, but my sense is that Saleh's coaching philosophy is way too defensive-minded and Hackett is not a good OC.
It's no secret that Hackett is the worst OC in football. Hell, a shitty Denver franchise couldn't even stand him for an entire season before canning his scrub ass. With Rodgers here, there's no way they get rid of his boy. The real answer? Blow this fucking thing up and get a real football guy in here to build the thing the right way. Anything short of that with this circus franchise will result in more of this same merry go round of failure. The Johnsons will never do this because they're a bunch of scared pricks. The Jets still have Scouts in their scouting department from before Namath won the Super Bowl. That's the height of idiocy and bizarreness. It just wreaks of politics and favoritism. Winning is not Paramount to the Johnsons, it's something they hope to step in one day like shit. They have no plan or vision for what it really takes which is a proven winner. Let that person build the whole fucking franchise. Anything short of that and the franchise might as well move to San Antonio or some other outpost. I said this before the season. The Jets aren't that good. They're just an average team. There is so much blame to go around....coaches, GM, Owners, Scouts and Players. The only way they will ever be a stable NFL franchise is to blow it up and bring in a Saban type. Someone who commands respect and has a proven track record of winning year after year. The end.
Hall. Wilson has shown some decent skills and Hall has been a dead fish this season. Why did the Jets not run Allen on the first and goal possession????
I get the Hall criticism, it felt like he was terrible. But you know I saw this morning a clip of all of his 10 carries, Hall was smothered immediately on each one. There was maybe 1 carry that it seemed like he stuttered and probably could've gotten more yards. But with that it still wasn't going for much more yards. How is it his fault if they hand him the ball and he's immediately smothered? Vera-Tucker had his worst game as a pro IMO
I say Wilson becuase he has a better QB, while Hall's success depnds largely on Oline holes that haven't really been there. Also Wilson has fumbled twice.
Wait, its not time to get paid yet. That season they will all be all pro's, then go back to this shit the following year.
