Brett Favre has Parkinsons

I feel sympathy for anyone diagnosed with PD. My mother had it. It's a slow descent of physical deterioration.

 

Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.

 

Am I too cynical in thinking that it was too convenient that Favre made this disclosure when he was getting grilled by a congressional committee for alleged misdeeds? Sorry, but I don't trust the guy.

Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre disclosed during a congressional hearing on Tuesday that he was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, a degenerative nervous system disorder that causes parts of the brain to deteriorate and affects movement.

Appearing before a House Ways and Means Committee hearing on welfare reform, Favre spoke about Prevacus, a company making a concussion drug that received $2 million of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) funds. Favre was the top investor in Prevacus, and text messages show he began asking state officials for help securing funds for the company in November 2018.

"Sadly, I also lost an investment in a company that I believed was developing a breakthrough concussion drug I thought would help others," Favre said during opening remarks. "And I'm sure you'll understand why it's too late for me, because I've recently been diagnosed with Parkinson's. This is also a cause dear to my heart."

A lot of folks hating on him. I get it, Favre is a douche, but as far as the covid money thing, everybody and their mother was robbing the federal government during that time. Some of them are even running and going to win elections this november

 

It wasn’t Covid money but out of principal I agree. These programs unfortunately get looted a lot of times by those that don’t need it.

I got $2,400 (split into 2 checks) during COVID for no reason I can think of (stimulus?), but hey, if you want to give it me, have at it. It made me feel a little guilty, but did I cash the checks? Yes.

This is horrible to hear. I hope to God he has family and friends to support him during this difficult time.
