breece hall- 10 carries and 5 targets for 18 yards. Enough said. If you can't scheme a way to get this guy loose you just suck as a OC.
Someone else may have already stated this, but even Rodgers alluded to this In his presser. He was asked why Allen Is basically looking better than Hall. Rodgers essentially said.. Some runs get blocked a certain way and there Is openings, and some runs that don't. I can't fathom how the coaching staff can't figure this shit out on the fly, instead of forcing the same dumb shit that Isn't working. Ego, only thing I can explain It with.
We don’t need to completely clean house yet, let’s start with Hackett immediately and may be Saleh. We will be so much better with Vrabel and a smart OC. Trading our LaFleur for Hackett is looking like the worst move ever.
In a year or two, it will be very interesting when the conversation between Douglas and Saleh about replacing LaFleur with Hackett gets leaked.
Vrabel and whoever Vrabel chooses as OC (don’t care who it is) brings this team to 11-6 and a playoff berth rather easily IMO. Probably gets Zach Wilson and friends to the playoffs last year. We’re staring down 8-9 right now with these morons.
Make the call JD, bring in Vrabel and he will blow this place up. Players respect him and play hard for him, and he knows his shit.
Why? He wants to coach and he inherits a pretty decent team. He will actually know what to do with the players.
I agree with everything you said. The coaching is absolutely horrendous, there is no way to sugarcoat that. They are not prepared, they don't execute well, they are undisciplined, and all of those things cost them terribly today in addition to the insanely terrible play calling. You could literally get someone off the street who's got a working knowledge of football, and they could have called a better game than that. Just terrible play calling in general, but first and goal at the one and trying to hand it to Hall who clearly was not on his game today when you have a young kid who is impossible to tackle on the first touch, unforgivable. Continuing to try to run the ball when it's clear the running game wasn't working rather than try and find ways to adjust to it and keep getting themselves into second and long and third and long situations, unforgivable. And I don't want to hear any more about Sauce Gardner being an elite corner. The next hard tackle he makes will be the first. The guy spends half his time avoiding contact, and when he does try to tackle people, he's trying to tackle a running back with momentum by going for the shoulders. Makes Deion Sanders and Darrelle Revis look like mashers. There are no more excuses left for this coaching staff. It is the albatross that this franchise is going to carry with it down the drain in a year when they should compete for the division title and possibly more. Along with that dipshit of an owner, of course.
Zach Wilson was a disaster that will eventually take the whole management group down. LaFleur was just the first head to roll. I wish the Jets had a crystal ball to see this far into the future with Sam Darnold leading the league in TD's and passer rating. Between that terrible mistake and Rodgers achilles tear 3 years got completely wasted. And at this very moment its looking like the Aaron Rodgers salvage attempt isn't going to work out either. Not even sure where they go from here. Before you blink another decade is going to go down the tubes.
It's hard to believe how a HC can lead a team with this much talent onto your home stadium football field against a so-so team and then execute a game plan as dismal as this. He is clearly not at HC level. To be fair the Jets will win some games on sheer talent alone, but to expect this guy to coach at the level required to get into the playoffs....don't think it's gonna happen.
The Titans sucking this season means he'll be on the shortlist for HC opportunities next offseason. Zero reason to tie himself to Douglas and the Jets, especially when the QB is 40 years old.
Except for one blown coverage, the defense was excellent. Except for a missed 50 yard field goal, the special teams was excellent. The offense was bad, but that's on Hackett.
Hate to say it, but I posted that I wanted Mayfield when he was available, and I also posted the Jets should be a favorites for nothing until they actually win something. UGGGGGHHHHHHHH !! Same old, same old, at least I wasn't fooled.
