These unis are a massive upgrade over the previous versions. Can't wait to see them under the lights for Week 1!
Happy to join in the love fest for the new unis, and indeed the white. But I did think of one improvement...green helmet for green jerseys, black helmet for black jerseys... white helmet for white jerseys?
I like this idea as well. Why not. If we are using black then white should easily be in the cards as an option. Regarding green pants. I hate the all green look but I will say I like them with the white shirt and green helmet. It's a cool contrast for me.
A potential white helmet will be what Woody comes up with to try to dampen the blow of missing out on the playoffs yet again. Will probably tweet about it moments after a former Jet scores the game winning TD in the Super Bowl.
I personally don’t hate the look of the black, but as it has literally NO connection to our team, I’d also prefer to just use the green jerseys with white pants at home, and white jerseys with white pants or green pants away… We don’t need anything more…don’t need all green, don’t need white helmets…the green helmet with all white rocks and I’m also ok with pairing the white jersey with green pants if we want to… But for sure we are looking way better with this new uni set I still prefer the Namath / Parcells logo and jerseys better…and even more so if we could do them with the current shade of green, but I’ll take these sack exchange uni’s just fine
I guess I'm in a small minority that does not like these new/retro 80s/90s unis. They are better than the garbage they replaced, sure. But the 80s/90s logo and uniform was amateur, generic, and just poorly designed. Like football-themed kids pajamas whose company didn't shell out for an NFL license. On top of that, with the exception of a year or two here and there, the Jets were not only mediocre to bad, they became a laughingstock in the Coslet/Carroll/Kotite years, and these unis bring back all those vibes for me. Parcells turned everything around, including the look, updating the classic Namaths. I'm with you. I actually prefer the darker green but I'd take the current green just fine. They just feel like the true Jets to me. Classy, iconic, professional.
I think they look fucking great and they nostalgically harken back to a time that was first time in my personal living memory that the Jets were actually a good football team. It comes around once every 15 years or so
Personally, for me, I'm on the Namath years bandwagon. What's that considered? The classic uniform. Just the right mix in my mind.
Would like those or the late 90s/early00s uniforms as an alternate for sure. The current ones are just awesome though
