Two-minute march with Aaron Rodgers: An 8-10 yard completion to Garrett (outside shoulder, Mosley nearest defender), into no-huddle where AR puts forth a confident strike to Lazard near sideline (1v1 Reed). Again, it couldn’t have been covered better (trail, inside contact), but the QB’s timing and confidence makes the back-shoulder indefensible. AR TD to GW 30+ yards, next-level field vision (in a messy pocket) on the busted coverage/chance taken by the solo-high man. Tough one for the D. Lastly, Brownlee redeems himself on a diving haul (Tyrod) after beating Codrington. 25-30 yards plus an illegal contact (Codrington). #Jets

    Practice is over. Some takeaways:

    - Biggest takeaway has to be Morgan Moses appearing in team drills today. Starting OL got work together for the first time in camp.

    - Offense continues to look impressive. Especially the Rodgers/Wilson connection

    - Strong showing from the linebackers including Chazz Surratt and Zaire Barnes

    - Ashtyn Davis was all over the field today. Best defensive player today. #Jets

Yeah, I had been wondering where he was as I hadn't seen his name mentioned once. I do like that every day someone new stands out, although some repeat as standouts. It shows how much talent we have, and that we can still play well even with some injuries. Not only are the Jets going to have a hard time making cuts, but they're going to have a hard time keeping some players off of the field. It will be interesting to see how Saleh handles things. If he gives players like Sherwood, Barnes, Stiggers snaps or more snaps during the season than previously, some starters who are used to playing all the time may get a little unhappy that they are playing less. It's great knowing that we now have some reliable depth on D. Now we have to improve the depth on the offense.

I was there again today. Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses did not participate, Vera-Tucker saw a few occasional snaps, so the O-line only had two starters in most of the time. Tippmann botched a snap on a 3rd down, resulting in a 22-yard loss I think. Sauce Gardner did not suit up. Rookie Isaiah Davis had a few snaps with the starters, lost a fumble. The highlight of the day was a TD pass from Tyrod Taylor to Jason Brownlee.

Getting a little concerning about Tippmann’s snap troubles, they don’t seem to be getting better

Maybe Rodgers should have brought Tippmann with him to Egypt so they could work on it. All high and shit.

It's not a new thing either. He had it last year - starting in preseason. There is definitely a cause for concern. If it were easy to fix, it would not linger. There is still time to fix, but I would not just brush it aside as nothing.

A center who can't snap the ball. Another brilliant draft pick by Douglas.

Hopefully he's calling around looking for someone that can come in an play center. They can't put Rodgers behind an O-line with a center who can't make the snaps.

He snapped the ball fine in college. The problem is that he had very few shotgun snaps in college. Shotgun snaps are not the easiest thing to do. It's fair to say that perhaps JD should have drafted a C who had a lot of shotgun snaps in college and was already skilled at it. There were a number of good, mobile C prospects in this draft, and I thought JD should have drafted one of them in the 4th or 5th rounds.

Hopefully, he gets it figured out.

They're not gonna trade for someone at this point. If someone is cut following TC, they may sign him, but this is a skill that Tippman can learn.

Tippmann will probably be fine, but they covered it last year on Hard Knocks that Rodgers makes the center snap it a certain way with a certain spin and he loses his shit when they don't do it. This is Tippman's learning curve. You bring somebody new in you just have to teach somebody new how to snap the ball like the peacock wants it all over again.

Then this is something that Douglas should have considered before drafting him. It's not particularly difficult to teach someone how to snap the ball out of the shotgun formation. High schools use the shotgun extensively and it's something that the centers even at that level get within the first week. For Douglas to pay someone millions of dollars to not be able to do something that is a basic part of their job responsibility is unacceptable.

If the season is totally dependent on Aaron Rodgers staying healthy, then this is something that must be addressed either by fixing it or finding someone who can actually get the snap back to the QB. Can't think of a better way of getting him injured early in the season than having a snap sail over his head and someone blindside Rodgers while his back is turned trying to track down the loose ball.

He’s too tall to play center anyway. A 6’7 center? Come on now move him to guard

also, it’s not easy to teach someone to shotgun snap the ball, it’s actually quite difficult because you know the guy has to actually block after he does it lol

I don't even know how he does it, the guy is the size of most starting tackles, his knees have to be screaming all the time.

But he's also a really good pull blocker and if he becomes a good center then he'll be mauling guys on double teams. Centers can't usually crank down on DTs like this dude can.

Connor McGovern is on speed dial. If Rogers isn't comfortable with Tippman snapping the ball, McGovern will be there in a heartbeat.
