We have the best QB in the division. We have the best Defensive Line and secondary. This is the year for us. I say Jets will win AFC East. What do you guys say?
Until three years ago, Rodgers would have been the best QB in the division. Now Allen is the best QB in the division, and our top offensive coach is among the dumbest in football. Our defensive line and secondary had better be otherworldly to make up for that.
I agree that they should barring major injuries to key players, but with Saleh as HC and the Jets' luck,I'm beginning to think it would take a minor miracle for it to happen.
They won't win the division. They will be extremely lucky to even make the playoffs. At the end of the day, despite being the most talented team on paper we've had since the early Rex Ryan years (although this is an incredibly low bar to clear), there is a distinct lack of leadership that will rear its head when this team hit its first bit of adversity during the season. And that's assuming that this team full of injury-prone veterans at key positions stays completely healthy over the course of the year, which is also very doubtful.
I do think this is the year it finally happens or at least comes close. I feel the Bills took a step back this year and Dolphins are about the same. You figure we are due for the odds to even out after 13 years missing the playoffs and having a top 5 team on paper. Of course paper means nothing, they have to win games and this is the year where they have no excuses. Everybody's on the hot seat, time to put up or shut up.
7 wins if the Jets are lucky. I like to keep my expectations high like the albatross when he's tripping. OK, seriously, maybe 8 wins but that's because you can't go .500 anymore. I wish the 14 game season would come back. Less extension of pain.
ETA: It almost doesn't matter who the best QB in the division is. It's mostly coaching, a garbage OC, and lack of a decent OL (which SHOULD be better this year). A better than decent back up QB w/out the Narc Flake and anyone who isn't the Spawn of Hackett could have been a difference maker. A Cinderella team instead of fool's gold, I get tired of speculating, but there it is. I'm not saying anything that everybody doesn't already know.
I voted yes to be optimistic. Do I believe it? Meh, probably not until their is an 'x' next to our name in the standings.
Have same doubts about Saleh as HC. This has to be a make or break year for him. If he can't win with the roster he has now, then.....so long it's been nice to know you.
Saleh is definitely gone and probably JD as well. Remember when the season ended then Woody Johnson made public comments known that he was not happy. This wasn't acceptable. The NY media all covered it. 2024 better be a good year if Saleh/JD want to remain. Everyone knows it.
I remember, however, winning on the field is the coach's job. I feel JD has done a fairly good job putting the talent in Saleh's hands, so I wouldn't necessarily agree about JD. Don't want to see another square 1 rebuild, square 2 okay, but not square 1.
JD's won-loss record as GM is terrible at 27-56. I definitely think both could be gone (Saleh for sure) if 2024 is disappointing. 2019 New York Jets NFL General Manager 7 9 0 .438 0 0 2020 New York Jets NFL General Manager 2 14 0 .125 0 0 2021 New York Jets NFL General Manager 4 13 0 .235 2022 New York Jets NFL General Manager 7 10 0 .412 2023 New York Jets NFL General Manager 7 10 0 .412 Total 5 Years 27 56 0 0 0 New York Jets 2019-2023 27 56 0 0 0
And remember he had nothing to do with the 2019 team; Maccagnan ran that offseason. He's really 20-47, so the Jets had better win this year for him to save his reputation.
Meh, I voted we win. Bills are worse than last year and we beat them with capt. milf fucker. OL will be the key, defense is better plus we might actually get to play with a lead and unleash the hounds for once. Dolphins aren't that scary once you figure them out like everyone did at the end of the season. Breece won't have to run against a 9 man box, Williams will take some heat off Garrett. Rodgers doesn't have to be great, just average and he will be the best QB we have seen in decades.
