He was due $16m, Jets gain about $9m in cap space but leave a hole and lose a locker room leader. Don't like it.
It sucks to lose the depth. Hopefully our DEs can stay healthy. And now IDL feels weaker too, since we can't slide JFM there.
We need cap space to sign our picks, no complaints here. JFM was expendable. now we can see if will mcds is capable.
There was a guy last pre-season who I guess was on our PS all last year--I thought he looked fine in PSeas--#51 Spencer--I see he's still on our roster--Maybe he's flashing--fingers crossed. That is, given JFM was going to move to inside this year maybe Spencer can server that function.
Yeah, I always thought he was somewhat overrated and overpaid. There was always talk that he could slide inside and play DT but he never did or did anything that I ever noticed. Good salary dump and at least they got a pick for him.
This was a bad move. Douglas gave him away for nothing. He just weakened a defense for a garbage draft pick in the future.
JFM was completely overrated. Nothing he does in the positives outweighs his once a game personal fouls. I have not been a fan of his since day one.
It’s ok, I’m sure one of them can handle committing the Roughing the Passer penalty void that JFM leaves behind
Jets needs to figure out if the young guys they have for the edge are good, not continuing to roll out an overpaid lineman that (not exaggeration) would cost the Jets 2 games a year with a personal foul in the biggest momentum swinging moment in that game.
