Check out All 22 against Ohio St on his every play, top opponent: Seems like he did the same thing against then as vs all other lesser competition. These who wanted Brock Bowers, looks like we got something similar here at WR, no joke.
I love this kid! I hadn't seen this video before. I had loved him as a YAC beast, but he sounds like a mature, smart young man with his head on straight. He wants to be great and it sounds like he is going to work to develop.
I had missed the first 10 or so picks of the 2nd round. If I had known that 3 WRs went in those first 10 picks, I really would have been freaking out wanting JD to trade up into the 2nd. I'm glad that I didn't know that. I was worried enough as it was.
I find it mind boggling not to like this kid. The more research I do on him, his stats are off the wall. He averaged 9.6 YAC, Over 3000 Yards in 3 years and 29 TD. He does two things extremely well, YAC is one and TDs is two. Boy did we need some help in that area. I heard on the radio his total yards production is fourth after the top three studs drafted before our 10th first round pick. And he is a tough runner. Well done JD….now a QB, and then BPA on both sides of the ball. According to the experts there will be a run at QBs and TEs.
I'm with 79. I see no point in drafting a QB. The Jets don't have a clue how to develop him, and he will just wind up being a wasted pick. With three 4th round picks, I'd rather see the Jets take an IOL, a RB, and either another WR, Kiran Amegadjie if he's still available, or a S or DT.
This was a really solid pick.. Not sure why people are hating. I get he has some development to do, but he has a lot to like from what I've watched of him. I like the Deebo comparisons a lot, I think he Is faster than Deebo as well. I'm excited that we got this kid, he was one of my favorites In the WR class. Stoked. Love this draft so far. Especially since we didn't have a 2nd rounder this year.
In body shape/ composition, 40-time, play style he is closest to Deebo Samuel coming out. Both ~ 5'11/215, both right around 4.48ish in the 40. Both big-time YAC and bully attitude as runners with some ability but lack of polish in their route running. Hope he ends up a good one for the Jets.
