https://www.nfl.com/news/nfl-expands-uniform-policy-to-allow-third-alternate-helmet-design I wonder if this would allow the Jets to wear the Namath uniforms with the white helmets for a couple of games?
I'd like to know what the win/loss percentage is in those uniforms. I remember when The Chimp was a rookie and rushed for a TD in that Titans throwback. Oh, what could have been . . . but ultimately wasn't because Jets.
I remember we did have some good times in those Titans unis that looked like a Rams uni that passed through the digestive tract of a moose.
Pretty sure we had more wins than losses in them. Highs being 56-35 over Cardinals in 2008, and 38-0 over Raiders in 2009... low being the loss to Miami at home in 2009 (Ted Ginn game).
I wonder how far away we are from just having a different uniform for each game. Or at least a different combination.
It would probably be a merchandising bonanza to start and then become non sustainable. The casual fans that they have cultivated as the desired target group would have trouble knowing what team they are rooting for. The home crowd would be cheering when the other team scored.
Agreed…this multi uni thing is getting out of control they should just have home, away, and then a throwback would honor the past and that should be it but of course if there’s money to be made the league will do it
I've never seen why alternate helmets weren't part of the change equipment regardless. I would have thought having two helmet colours available as standard would be better for everyone so they don't clash either. As it is the helmet is not changed even if both teams have the same colour. So I would go White pants & Green jerseys home. Green pants & White jerseys away. Use the current green helmet unless playing another team in a green, red, brown, blue, grey or black helmet on the road (colour-blindness test combinations) - in which case use a white helmet. Throwback as per Broadway Joe.
