And then there's this intellectual genius on Facebook who ridiculed someone for wanted to tank and then had this contradictory exchange with me:

You appear to be operating under the belief that the players you mention would be performing at the same level today as they are now if their teams were reversed. This is the Jets; that is not what happens here.

It was boring because I dozed off in the middle of the game.

Both team's problems will not be solved by a franchise QB, even though I must say the talent at QB for both teams sucked this year.

Until both teams solve their offensive line issues, I don't see them going too far.

Congrats on the win and good luck during the offseason.

like calling for a pass on 4th and 1 in a blizzard with a QB that may be even worse than what the Jets have? that kind of trying?

It matters here as we are desperate for a tackle that can tackle - there are two highly rated tackles going into the draft and both are expected to be gone by pick 7/8 so dropping down to 10 is likely to cost us one of them the same way dropping down two spots last year as part of the Rodgers trade cost us a tackle that year and landed us with Will McDonald.

Maybe Bill has an onset combo of CTE and Alzheimer's?

but yeah, he's probably coming back... with the ability to draft a new QB, unless NE brass realize that it's a longterm rebuild project and wants a younger coach that will be there for the long haul

That's fair, but also a separate issue entirely that doesn't impact the validity of higher pick = better all else equal.

I recorded the game and I watched the end. I believe you are incorrect, he does greet Saleh and shakes his hand.

No, it's actually not a separate issue at all. Statistically, the higher draft pick may do better, but when you get to specifics instead of demographics, Lawrence is not a better quarterback than Wilson because he was picked before him. We will never know if Jacksonville could have turned Wilson into a top tier quarterback or if the Jets could turn Lawrence into a bum. We'll never know what the supporting cast of players and coaches would have done to raise or lower either one.

He did meet and shake (though it did look like he kept his face mask up which seemed sort of odd)

I believe Belichick was suffering from a bad case of the flu, so maybe he was trying to not infect anyone
