The average “top 10 all time player” I would agree but we’re talking about a player who has to have his ass kissed and his ego stroked at every turn. This is a guy who we had to hire his buddy to call the offense and sign 2 of his favorite wide receivers. I guess we could always fire Hackett but do you think Rodgers sticks around if they do? Face it, they made him an unofficial owner in order to get him to come aboard and we’re stuck with him and his buddies
Sorry to rain on the parade, but Joe Douglas is not going anywhere. He may choose to fire Saleh, but Aaron Rodgers is on the same page as him and Woody will bow to Rodgers' will. Rodgers doesn't want the team blown up, so it's not happening. They will build around him and there will be a sense of urgency to improve the offense.
I think Hackett is the only possibility and they may take forever to fire him this offseason. Otherwise probably just the OL and WR or RB coach
So predictable and so stupid. Really not sure I can support this circus any longer. Life is too short. It'd be one thing if we were an organization going through growing pains with a new owner or something, but we make the same mistakes over and over no matter how many times they bite us in the ass. It just feels hopeless when the front office and ownership never even learn from the past.
They're not making any mistakes. This is all by design. When they're making money off of us hand over fist, regardless of how bad the product is, why do they even need or want to try to put a decent product out there? This is not a serious organization. They are not in the business of winning. Never will be either, unfortunately.
Rams haven’t had a first round draft pick in 7 years. Here’s what they pulled from last years draft class. 36. Steven Avila, G, TCU - part of an offensive line that I believe has 4/5 new starters from last year. 77. Byron Young, LB, Tennessee - third in sacks among rookies 89. Kobie Turner, NT, Wake Forest - first in sacks among rookies (he’s a friggain nose tackle mind you) 177. Puka Nacua, WR, BYU - should break the rookie receiving yards and receptions records if he plays next week.
Yep. And what’s interesting about the Rams, Browns, Seahawks (historically too), Lions (recently), etc. is that they have all prioritized quantity of draft picks in round 3-5 and their roster is primarily comprised of those players. Everyone likes to rip Belichick on his general manager skills (which have sucked the past 5 or so years) but that’s exactly how he kept the dynasty humming. The Jets keep trading all of the pieces away needed to build a long term winner in the middle rounds for shiny new toys.
Yup. The Browns and Lions are new but the rest of those teams have been successful for a long stretch (including evil Bill) because they know how to spot and develop talent for their particular system. They aren't a conglomeration of talented players without a blueprint or direction like the Jets are. Hey, at least we have a little bit of talent now. That's progress I guess.
How about great scouting too? I thought JD bought in a new crew. If he did, those guys should all be fired and a new group of scouts hired by a new GM.
Whoever recommended to Douglas to draft Becton, Zach, and/or McDonald in round 1 should be replaced. Seriously, how many times can Joe miss on round 1 picks and keep a job? Douglas should be fired regardless either for following that recommendation or taking those players based on what he saw (or didn't see) in them.
Surprised people are still shitting on the McDonald pick. The guy is a rookie and we have expensive veteran pass rushers that could be replaced if the pick was on target. If McDonald is the next Micah Parsons our scouts did their job.
Micah Parsons was Micah Parsons from the first snap of his career. Bite your tongue. But you're right, they will use that dumb pick to justify letting Huff walk.
