If they were worried about him having a negative impact on the locker room, you know what else has a negative impact on the locker room? The worst QB play and offense in the NFL
Say it again loud! They needed to be on the phone the moment Rodgers went down. Right that moment. It’s criminal the way JD has handled this roster.
Wentz wouldn't fare any better on this team than Wilson (or now Boyle) - the offense is hot garbage and only a HOF QB could make it look any different
Should've sold a price of Woodys pharma company and outbid for Dobbs! How did they stick with Wilson so long? It's obvious he is not a true NFL qb.
Pretty much. The biggest issue now is every team knows to stack the run. No run game at all. Everything falls on the QB who sucks. If Rodgers is here the run game would be having a field day every week because teams wouldn't be able to play for it.
I can believe that they didn't sign him. Wentz is at least capable of occasionally playing the kind of football that a player who belongs in the NFL is capable of playing. That wasn't what they wanted from this season in our post-Rodgers world.
Even if rogers is playing, the Jets get killed today. Zach is awful and should have been gone before the season LAST YEAR, but he is far from the only reason the offense is historically bad. The receivers get no separation and fumble, the line can't block anyone, and the tight ends and running backs can't catch. They should plan to lose out now because that's what is going to happen. YET ANOTHER JET COLLAPSE IS HAPPENING RIGHT BEFORE OUR EYES.
This is said almost weekly, but I'll say this week it may not be wrong. Maybe we don't get embarrassed, but I think the team played poorly almost everywhere today. The Raiders game? We have a QB that's not bottom of the NFL and thats a win.
Losing out is an absolute guarantee at this point. There is not a single team left on this schedule that this "team" is capable of beating.
This game we would have lost regardless of who was playing QB. But we almost certainly would have won the Pats and Raiders games with Wentz, which would put us at 6-4 right in the thick of the playoff race.
We might have some hope now if they picked up a QB back on September 12th, over 2 months ago. Joe Douglas is a dumb ass loser
Patriots game too. And we can live with getting embarrassed on the road if we have those two games and we’re 6-5.
I believe a number of people here have pointed out that possibility since August while Douglas ate his phone.
I don't buy that this game would have been lost with any orher quarterback. We would have 2-3 more wins coming in and that breeds confidence with the right leader at the helm. A competent, confident QB the team believes in changes everything.
They’ve always known that. Books been out on Wilson for a while now. Boyle at least showed that he could read what the defense was giving him (that one time) and knew where to go with the ball. We may end up with another Mike White situation where a pedestrian QB looks way better than he is merely because he’s competent.
We had less than 100 yards of offense midway through the 3rd quarter in a league where they are begging you to score points and move the ball. Mind blowing really. It is so obvious that zach is mentally broken and bringing in any competent backup would have destroyed his mental.
