The D is tired of playing most of the game EVERY WEEK. Three and outs every offensive possession thanks to a sub par QB who should have been cut last year, another failed head coach as our offensive coordinator, and a do nothing head coach who stands on the sidelines all game like a statue with ZERO answers week after week . There is nothing wrong with our defense. Joe Douglas and Robert Saleh need to be put out to pasture,
The Jets should take offensive lineman for 3 years straight. Let’s get run all over with a trash defense but at least we can probably score.
On the bright side there’s very little chance we’ll see Zach dressed as our QB again. At least not until Boyle or Siemian gets hurt.
If there’s ever a stats don’t tell you he whole story, it’s the stats of these 2 QB’s. The postgame conference with Bart and co addressed this plainly. Boyle made every correct decision. Every throw he made was the right read. He’s light years ahead of Zach in football intelligence. Our offense has major issues outside of QB, but they owe it to the team to play the QB that knows wtf he’s doing.
This isn't Boyle's first shot at starting. He was awful for the Lions (worse than Zach even), and looking at what he did in college, I'm honestly not sure how he's even in the NFL. Siemian should be the starter going forward, not Boyle.
I’m not sure who lineman number 63 is and I’m sure he got abused out there cause he’s a practice squad talent forced into action (thanks Joe Douglas), but the man showed some fight, pushing bills players around till the whistle, and not taking any shit, it was refreshing
I've barely watched the last few weeks. I was against the AR trade, & once it became clear to me that all the effects of the AR trade - - the Hackett, Lazard, Cobb, etc were also mistakes - - what's the point? Now, we'll be stuck, at the very least, with Saleh & Hackett for another year, because AR likes them. Saleh's a great PR frontman, but HC, nah. He thinks the best teams are coached by the players... he's hands off. That might work as a coordinator, but not as HC. How he lets a non-attacking, unimaginative, uncreative, slow, predictable offensive game plan repeat weekly, in & of itself shows he's in over his head. As for Hackett, he said he likes teaching & that's where he belongs... maybe as a position coach. I feel bad for people who actually believed this team was a QB away... believing Zach caused last year's collapse, & ignoring the other issues (like the CS, the talent usage, the penalties, the injuries, the OL, the D's lack of turnovers, & weakness against the run, etc). It's the same thing this year. Oh well, there is always 1969. .
That's a condemnation of JD and I agree--yet, why not give him his best shot now by letting him take all practice snaps this week?
I'm hoping Boyle starts next week for a change of pace. But you can't just go around dating he played a lot better if it isn't true. Sent from my SM-S906U using Tapatalk
After the game Boyle sounded like he didn’t even want the job. He said Zach Wilson has done a phenomenal job this year and he’s the ultimate professional. And the staff will decide what they wanna do at QB
Really the pickings are slim. Boyle is not NFL level talent. He was awful in Detroit in 2021 and came into one game for Chicago last year, threw two picks in 8 attempts, and was let go. The reason why he is still in NFL is because he made friends with Rodgers in 2019 and 2020. As a practice squad guy to help install offense I guess it is OK. But as a starter? He is absolute shit. And yet he had a better preseason than Siemian did. It's possible that the best QB on the team now is Morestead. I guess what I am saying is that at this point we are fucked at QB. All 3 QBs we have currently are bad. We can start taking turns, maybe Boyle 1 game, Siemian 1, rinse repeat. All while we could have had Wentz or Dobbs. JD put us in a terrible terrible spot, particularly with the awful OLine and bad WRs in addition to QBs, and I am afraid I do not see a way out this year. Unless somehow defense starts scoring.
That’s the problem…there’s really nothing that will fix this mess Our OL is not going to get much better Our WRs are not going to get much better unless the kids (Gipson, Brownlee, Taylor) start getting reps and ball out Our QB options are all way below average This is what we are stuck with…we don’t have a creative OC because our real OC is rehabbing his Achilles We are stuck with this putrid offense for the rest of the way unfortunately
