The "race to 20 points" sure hasn't been working...

Just win 1 of the next 2, doesn't really matter which one. 0-2 though and the season is over.

It would be nice to get this one Sunday so the Black Friday game will have some juice in the stadium and kind of be a house money game since 6-6 should be the goal after Atlanta.

Keep in mind, anyone watching mostly Jets games will think things have dropped off a cliff, at least for offenses.

Teams like the Jets, Giants, and Patriots are dragging down the averages for offense this season in a major way.

Jets vs Giants is all the bad football I’ll ever need to see for the rest of my life.

a little perspective on this season.
the bengals, bills, and jets were all "SB caliber teams" to start the season.
bengals 5-5 no major injuries, still had their elite QB (although he may miss some time now)
bills 5-5 some injuries on D but most were recent (last 3 games) still have their elite QB. fired their OC despite having a top 10 offense.
Jets 4-5. WR2 retired right before the season suddenly, lost their elite QB 4 snaps into the season. starting practice squad and backup o-lineman. played a game with their 5th string and 6th string CBs as starters and won

thats not quite true. it is down as a whole. even if you average the middle of the pack (10-20) right now it's about 22PPG. going back to even 2020 that number is 25.
offenses in the NFL are down from previous years as a whole. not just the jets, pats, and giants

Ok but stats don’t matter so I don’t care.

true but watching the offenses this year, they are easily worse then they have been. QB play has been down. the position has lost too much talent with the great retiring the past 5 years and haven't replaced them
o-line talent in the past decade has been way worse then the d-line talent. every year a new stud rusher or 2 comes out but it's rare that stud lineman come out. brick would be the top LT in the NFL today and back then he was a top 5-10 guy.

Ya--I was going to quote SF too--excellent few games in a row there. I get your point though.

Burrow’s leg was pretty fucked early in the season even though he played through it. He couldn’t move. Higgins has now missed three games in a row but they luckily account for receiver depth in Cincy.

I think the Jets fans urgency and lack of perceived perspective as it relates to the rest of the league is more about where they anticipate the season going rather than how it’s been to get us here.

If you are implying develop him at the cost of a win I disagree 1000%. This team and leadership are skating on thin ice and making the playoffs are number one priority. Unfortunately, right or wrong they think Zach is our best option. Development has zippo to do with it. We apparently did not go after a better option which makes this a no win situation unless the entire offense starting with Zach has an epiphany.

As much as I like to see the PO before I die, I doubt that its likly to happen with this unit and CS unless, as LA said, there is an epiphany and they instantly becomes viable.

I am off my meds so....

Nobody in our FO is on thin ice. Rodgers going down gave everyone a mulligan. Short of dick pics or some other ridiculous off field antics we could lose out from here and no one is getting fired. Seriously, Fire Hackett? Don’t think so. Fire Saleh? Gonna have to hire a replacement that keeps Hackett that Rodgers likes. Fire JD? Probably gonna have to fire the coaches with him if you want a reasonable candidate to replace him. This season has no purpose but to develop Zach with a hope of possibly winning to go along with it. If winning were the first priority then they would have had competition at QB the day after Rodgers injury. Instead they went with the guy that they openly said is incapable of starting an NFL game at QB. They benched him twice, told him to read a book, told him to reset, and spent a hundred million dollars to replace him.

When that 100m option went lame 4 plays in suddenly the guy they just said was not ready to be an NFL QB needs no competition? No one to at least try to see we could get the best we can out of the position? Whether a vet off the street or trade? Nope, they did nothing for 3 weeks. It was clear by then Zach hasn’t really improved much at all and fans (including Joe Namath) started getting very vocal, so they went and signed the least threatening backup they could find while the trade deadline passed and every other option finally signed elsewhere. That puts them in the situation where they can credibly say Zach is their best option to win, but JD is still stubbornly shoving Zach down our throats because there’s no repercussion if he fails, and if by some miracle he actually does improve then JD looks great. It’s a win win situation for the entire FO/Coaching staff.

The Jets have created a terrible situation for themselves and they refuse to fix it. It's mind-boggling.

No you’re wrong, they created a terrible situation for the fans. We’re the ones that have to watch this. We’re the ones that suffer. They have no consequence. A terrible situation for the Jets would be Rodgers playing like shit. That would result in firings and all sorts of scorched earth. Now they not only get this season free, they get next season as well.
