I also don’t really understand why they’re using Lazard in quick stops in the slot and other shit like that. Green Bay used to run him on slants, streaks, deep overs, and put him in position to body defensive backs. The Jets are using him like he’s a small quick slot receiver. He has zero twitch and quite frankly sucks, but that’s besides the point. Agreed, I just think it can’t get much worse. And regardless of how anyone here or in the media thinks about his play, it’s clear he’s losing the locker room. And honestly, that’s two years in a row that he’s lost it. It’s not like if Boyle or Semien come in and throw 3 picks, we can’t go back to Wilson. It needs to be fluid and everyone needs to not have hurt feelings about it. It’s about the team.
Man, if only they had a guy that they paid 4M to this offseason who is twitchy and good in open space for those routes. Or a UDFA who's their primary returner. Bingo. I'd be fine if they give it a shot. If it works? Great! If not, go back to Zach. It's not like he's the future anyway so who cares if that move hurts his confidence going forward.

What would you say the odss are that : A-If the sat be hind a high level vet for 2 or more years before playing, and went to “how to read a defense 101” he’d be light years better than what we are seeing? B-He actually goes somewhere next year, sits for a few years and then has a Geno Smith level revival? C-If you ran a team, and he was a FA, would you bring him in as a “project”?
Meh I’m not watching Siemien or Boyle run this offense. They do nothing to add to the mistakes this team makes…Zach can only do so much. We micromanage him so much because he’s been so bad but I’m sure other QB’s make similar mistakes if we would do the same. They just have better playmakers, better coaching around them. And this isn’t to absolve Zach, he is what he is, a borderline backup QB but I just don’t think he’s the reason for the lack of TD’s.
I suppose this wouldn't be a part of your breakdown because it wasn't a throw but there was a play where the Jets lined up, Wilson went under center and he audibled to an inside run which was stuffed easily by the Raiders. He audibled too late, with 2 or 1 secs left on the play clock. That play stood no chance
Pretty cool stuff. Pretty extensive and through. While I agree ZW wasn’t awful and while some says he played fine and made some good plays. He did. Like many good QBs do, he did miss few targets. My issue with ZW is he can’t win games. Yes he did have couple of Come From Behind wins but he is at this stage going from “don’t do anything to hurt/lose games” to asking him to “win games”. He has shown he can’t.
I just pointed it out because that's the kind of stuff that pisses your teammates off. "here breece - you take it" and he gets clobbered immediately. "gee thanks"....
Collinsworth was right last night. They need to treat Wilson like a rookie. Don’t let him try to scan the field and don’t let him audible. One read and go. He is not smart enough for more than that
zach gave him a CURSORY look to the left... buts SPillane gota a GREAT break ...THE INSTANT ZW looked right he took off... ZW didnt hesitate much... to me its a 50/50... D made a good play/ZW didnt hjold him long enough
for the guy with the biggest mouth... hes gotta make that catch. gotta make the TD throw as well. (not an excuse for the QB)
