This game has all the trappings of that classic Jets game where we're all riding high, thinking that we've turned a corner, and then the Jets, with extra time to prepare, do their SOJ best and completely flop against an opponent they should blow out of the building by halftime. I think they'll ultimately pull it out, but it'll be one of the uglier games we have this year and we'll need to rely a lot on Greg the Leg tomorrow.
If the Jets want to wash the stink of SOJ off this franchise, tomorrow is a game where they come out and put their boot on the Giants throat defensively and be opportunistic as hell. Show they aren't just sniffing their armpits. Offensively they need to regularly mix play action and screens into the offensive plan to keep Martindale honest and to get the running game going, and let Breece take their soul to the tune of two-hunny and a couple visits to the endzone. Make Mara explain to his sponsors why the lowly Jets are gut-stomping them during a home game..
very eloquent but the Giants are terrible, they lose almost every week. If the Jets beat them, it’s just another loss in a lost season for them if the Jets wanna prove their for real, win this week, next week, the week after. Put together a business like 5 or 6 in a row
Maybe it’s the weather. Maybe it’s the impending shitty week of travel for work. But I woke up on the dark side this morning. Every logical Jets fan knows how today goes. On paper we should win in a laugher. In reality we lose 9–3. You’d like to think that changes one day but it’s not going to happen the year where we lost our top 5 QB four plays into the season. The football gods still hate us.
They can’t block us. Not with THAT line. No way. My biggest concern is getting hit with two or three bullshit roughing the passer calls. I think that will be the Giants best offensive play today.
Logically we win this game. But every experienced Jets fan knows that the same old Jets lose this game, especially to their cross town rivals. However if I were a betting man I would still go with logic and put money on a Jets win. Not sure they cover though.
GAME-DAY ELEVATIONS WR Malik Taylor OL Xavier Newman Based upon this it looks like Charles is out today and Taylor will try to show something on ST.
Everyone on ESPN’s NFL Sunday countdown just agreed that if this turns into a ground and pound game because of the weather, the Giants are going to win because they have Saquon. What am I missing here? He looked very average even when he was healthy, that offensive line is atrocious and our defensive line is beastly. Not to mention Breece Hall is awesome and the Giants run D is awful.
