The sports medicine links I shared do not show nine weeks to walking around for elite athletes. He's right on track with the consensus of those institutions.

RB. Couldn't check out the links you provided. So what is your take about his possible return date to practice? Is mid December too optimistic?

One thing to keep in mind is that he’s not aggressively cutting on that leg and at least we hope he’s not getting hit at his ankles a lot.

A guy like Cam Akers needs to absorb tons of contact and cuts a lot more on that thing than a QB who can probably throw it 40 yards on a rope flat footed.

I think it is possible, but not likely that he would be nearly as effective as before the injury. He could also be putting himself in a position to stretch tendon too much or retear it by doing too much too soon. The ten minute video that cval posted about ten posts above here (#294) explains it very well, especially the cautions in the last minute or two.

I think I saw the same post as you; It was a shitty headline. It’s a 12 week return meaning week 15…. Unless you saw something different.

I think one of the most important pieces to this discussion of a previously unfathomable timeline is that Rodgers apparently had a slightly different type of achilles surgery, intended to help speed up recovery:

    https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...ssibly-as-soon-as-week-15-injury-expert-says/

This explains why Rodgers was almost IMMEDIATELY talking about an unprecedented rate of recovery in his first interviews after the surgery - he didn't have the standard achilles surgery that the commonly accepted timeline is based on.

Is Aaron Rodgers the Tommy John of the NFL, in relation to the Achilles?

At this point I think we can throw out previous timelines on Achilles surgeries based off this new technique that was used on Rodgers and Akers.

we will see Aaron on the field way sooner then later, but also this surgery will be used on athletes all over who suffer this type of injury, the timeline is just remarkable in terms of getting back on the field.

We will see. It is one thing to come back it is another to be able to play at a high level.

100% agree with you. I'm not a believer, but I'm also not counting this guy out. He's a lunatic and psychotic. He would love nothing more than to shove it in the medias face just like everything else

I am not sure if I am a believer or not, it will not be easy.

I can see a few scenarios

    1. Rodgers comes in and takes us to the promised land then retires.
    2. Comes back plays poorly and looks rusty can't end career like that and plays lights out in 2024
    3. Teases about coming back but never does and comes back next season

I'm still thinking a 95%+ chance of the above happening but maybe I will be wrong!
