The Jets single season record for field goals made was set in 1968 by Jim Turner with 34. The NFL record was 2011 by David Akers (San Francisco) with 44. --- Greg Zuerlein has missed a game this season and yet still has 14 already. He is on pace for 45
He’s missed a game and still on pace is wild. It also says we are getting lots of chances to score and be in the RZ but can’t convert. That concerns me tbh and ZW has to stop missing open guys in the EZ
Interesting. While I like TDs, don’t get me wrong but it does give me some encouragement that we re at least moving the ball to opponents territory. Yeah granted o know the defense has done their good share. Hopefully we can build up on it and convert to TDs.
This is the toughest part of the field for a QB with vision problems like Zach. You have a short field....lots of people in a compressed area....you don't want to throw an INT....also told not to throw away 3 points. I think he needs to roll-out more near the RZ -- and all over, really -- because he simply isn't very good when he classic drop-backs. In fact, does anybody have his QB Ratings for when he rolls out left/right vs. classic drop back in the pocket ? Seems like most bad things (INT, sack, incompletion) happen with the latter.
This isn't a good thing, this speaks more of , the offensive unit ability to not get in the end zone, which needs to be corrected
I honestly believe that Salah feels proud whenever he sends out the Field Goal Unit. It's gotten to the point where Touchdowns are such a foreign concept to him, a Field Goal has become the ultimate accomplishment for him.
Agreed. He seems to be happy with any points at all, almost like he's relieved that the drive didn't end in a turnover.
When does Zach throw into the endzone? Hackett always designs plays SHORT of either the marker or the endzone.
Sorry team, this thread wreaks of Zach Bias. Let's be objective, now. Yesterday, there were 6 trips to the end zone. - 3 of them wound up with 3rd and longs due to penalties. (This counts the ridiculous Lazzard penalty and drop possession where we'd have our best position, with momentum) - 2 of them turned into 3rd and longs due to sacks. On 1, there was the blind side Reddick sack where a year ago we'd be delighted with Zach taking the sack. The other was on Zach, after he/Garrett missed on a 50/50 ball (which was the only called throw into the end zone) - 1 of them was the Breece TD Let's also recognize that they are 2/2 on 2-point conversions. I agree that this team needs to get into the end zone. Putting it on Zach is just plain bias. PS - The Denver game was mired with penalties.
Lol at least we're getting into the red zone and scoring range and converting the FGs... Now they need to figure out what's going wrong in the red zone. They have 2 weeks to work more on that. Zach's 2pt conversion to Cobb was encouraging.
I'm in the middle of a department meeting in a conference room, so I can't look this up: I could have SWORN they went for FG's in the Denver game where they were 4th and 2 or less multiple times.
If the Jets are going to be a serious team, they need to stop kicking so many field goals. I'm not sure what the issue is in the redzone, but they need to start converting at least half of those 1st and goals into TDs. They aren't going to win consistently without scoring TDs.
Where do I get my Zuerlein and Moorstead jerseys? I feel like their contributions to this 3-3 start are overlooked -- Z is basically our entire offense, and Moorstead sets the D up for success time after time. Last new jersey I bought was a Testaverde.
that’s exactly what I was gonna say. I mean the All22 is showing guys deep in their routes open in the EZ and ZW clearly can’t go through the progression to find them. He just forces the ball into his first read. I mean it’s not like we are asking him to hit guys in stride. These guys have separation and are wide open. An avg QB gets those TDs ijs
And just to add a lil tidbit... in the Chiefs game, after they were down 17-0, blind Zach, was somehow able to pass into the endzone. Two TDs, & a slight overthrow to GW. I wonder if the playcalling had anything to do with that? Nah, Zach just lucked out that his 1st-read was wide open. It couldn't be related to the playcalling, since Zach sucks. .
