I know the usual suspects will be saying same ol' Zach crap, but this whole crazy game... yes, I'm ecstatic they won, demonstrates to me that this team will NEVER win consistently with Saleh as HC.
There is no killer instinct in him.
It's like he wants the refs to effect close games.
    Always FGs in the redzone.

I don't blame Zach for that disgusting ending to the 1st half.
It's up to the CS to make sure everyone knows the situation & options.
The OLman were taking their time getting to the line, no urgency.

Again, I'd have liked to see more of what we saw, last week, rollouts, a jet-sweep or three, etc.
An uneven game for Zach, but more importantly, uneven play-calling from Hackett.
This O could be explosive, even with Zach, if the O was more dynamic.
That's when he plays his best.
Bottomline, to me, Zach has turned a corner, not the huge one we all want (yet?), but he's looking more like an NFL QB.
Obviously, he's got a way to go, but for now, he's reached backup QB competence level.
A huge step from last season.

Next week, Hackett will have to be better, but I think we've seen who he is already.
    He's not about attacking a D aggressively.

Kudos to Breece & Bryce, who looked good today in place of Reed.
Quincy is amazing how he's stepped up, honed his game.
I'd like to see Cook deactivated next week, & let Izzy have some reps.
And lastly, give Zach a set of balls, to be renegade & go for the endzone, when Hackett is holding him back.
This FG shat has gotta stop.

that’s exactly why I said he’s in over his head. When he wins it’s not because of changes he made or going for the dagger. He just barely scrapes by and gives the other team too many chances to win by making bad calls and decisions

Good game manger today. Made the “big boy” throws when needed. The int was a crazy play.

He threw for under 200 yards, threw a bad interception, missed a touchdown to Garrett Wilson, lost his mind at the end of the first half, and did all that against a Broncos defense that gave up 70 to the Dolphins and make Sam Howell and Justin Fields look elite.

As I type this, the date is October 8.2023, at approximately 8:07 PM EST.

Right now, at this moment, I have more confidence in Zach Wilson than I do in Robert Saleh.

I can't believe I just typed those words.

    It's so frustrating.
The CS has this image in their heads, that is so rigid, on both sides of the ball.
And it limits them on being creative.
At least on D, Ulbrich sometimes gambles, like that last set of downs, when the D took control.
Hackett talks a good game about calling plays Zach is comfortable with, but his rigid mindset, can only go so far, unless the team is far behind.
It's sad, but we may never see if Zach can take a bigger step, unless he lucks out & goes to a team with a creative OC/HC.
At the very least, Zach's value has increased. There will be a market for him, so if the Jets choose to trade him, they'd probably get a decent conditional pick at this point.
Oh, I forgot, Zach sucks... his stats suck... he's a bust... the worst QB ever... ad nauseum.

-OR- At 24 yrs-old, he's taken some time to learn his craft, under crazy conditions, & done so at a slower pace than many would've liked.
    He's playing much better.

He did complete 70+% of his passes. Made some critical third down throws , you do not run a play at the end of the half with both tackles out. The int should have been caught by GW if he used his hands.

I'm sure Garret Wilson didn't enjoy getting mugged either.

This x100. I don’t know how any experienced football fan watches that game and comes away with the idea that Wilson “played well”. All the things you mentioned, plus yet again gets the ball in his hands with a chance to put the game away and can’t do it. ITS HIS THIRD YEAR. This idea that the quarterback fairy is going to wave her wand and turn him into a big time player is fucking ludicrous

I agree he did some of the things you would expect a backup to do against the worst ranked defense in the league in both yards and points.

Look, I am a lot of nasty things, but a Zach Wilson apologist? Not...a....chance. Everything you said above is true, but with the exception of the INT, I don't know how you could have possibly expected a better game from Zach Wilson with the downright cowardly play calling from this OC and HC. I am almost positive they kicked FGs on three seperate occasions when they had 4th and 1, with Breece Hall having the best game of his career. That is pathetic.

There are plenty of legitimate things to complain about when it comes to Zach Wilson. Today's anemic offense was not his fault.

The Jets do not get those calls. Just like we do not get roughing thr passer calls when are Qb gets smacked on the head.

Given that Zach screwed up twice (interception and letting the clock run out) in the limited chances he was given, and the Jets went on to win thanks to Breece, Zuerlein, and the defense, I don't blame Hackett and Saleh for calling the game the way they did. Of course against the Eagles, they'll have to open it up, but I'm not going to get my hopes up for a repeat of his Chiefs performance.

Not sure I understand what you mean in "the limited chances he was given" He made some big throws in the game, and the INT should have either been caught by GW or knocked down, it wasn't a bad throw.

The fact that they did not go for it ONCE on 4th and one is inexcusable.
