reed smartly didn’t tackle him. You know it would’ve been an instant roughing the passer even if the hit was clean. Good play by reed

The was a big whiff. Mahomes still had the ball in his hands, Reed could've generated a turnover there.

The NFL has decided that other teams are not allowed to hit Mahomes

I agree, it’s just weird that maholmes knew he wouldnt take the hit. He had to see reed coming

I think Reed sees Mahomes and our player coming in so avoids it all. Any Safety would love that chance to hit a player. So I have to believe he avoided the hit on purpose.

At that rate of speed Reed could have ended Mahomes's season.

I thought the same too but look close at the video, reed swats at the ball and knocks it loose but mahomes gets control back and tosses it away..
he was trying to avoid a penalty, I thought he may have whiffed but this angle and zoom you can clearly see him hit the ball away.

Maybe Reed thought he had picked off the ball and was racing into the Chiefs end zone. Just another whiffed tackle by a pro defender, which happens multiple times in any game. Usually, they make it look a little better than this.

Lol, it’s so weird. All maholmes does is tuck the ball. Like he knew reed would run right past him. What qb doesn’t make some kind of career saving maneuver with someone running at you like that?

Of course he knew that he wouldn't be hit. I'm sure Reed knew good and well that he would have been ejected and suspended probably for the next two games.

Mahomes is hugely important to the NFL, now even more than he was in previous years. He's a much more reliable deliverer of the football to Travis Swift than Blaine Gabbert could ever hope to be.

It was a ghost. That happens on film at football games all the time now.

Good eye! I missed that, too and thought he completely whiffed.
