Joe says a lot of stuff he should just keep to himself ("i just want to kiss you", for example)... but I think he's right on here.
I love Joe, but he was out of line on TMKS. Not saying he was wrong...but given his stature...he can't say that at this time. Say it 'aint so, Joe !!
The Wilson takes are one thing, but he basically said Woody needs to clean house and that Douglas and Saleh are trash.
That quote was after an afternoon of drinking with his old teammates. I’ll give him a pass on that one.
Based purely on results, it's hard to argue that he's wrong. Especially JD. This is now Year 5 of the never ending rebuild during a period when this team has never broken 7 wins and never beaten the Patriots.
Year 5 and here we are once again taking polls and talking about tanking before Week 4. If you are the Jets front office and coaching staff, how many mulligans and built-in excuses do you get before everyone starts realizing you are not cut out for the job? Namath has been around this business long enough to be able to spot fraudsters when he sees them. Reporter: You plan on signing another QB? Saleh: That's a Joe Douglas question. Translation: So we have to wait five weeks for JD to come out of hiding from hibernation to find out? Gotta love people who demand accountability from others, but run the other way when it's time for them to be accountable. The true value of any company is how it treats its customers. Nothing new under the sun here with this organization.
What? When he starts making stuff up you can say he's out of line; the man doesn't need to give up his opinions (based on facts and experience, btw) or bully pulpit simply because some fans are uncomfortable hearing them - that's their problem. Until then deal with the truth - good, bad or ugly.
I hope Woody doesn't go James Dolan on Namath--it would be a cherry on the catastrophe that is this season.
Not watching the video but if he said Zach stinks he’s correct. That’s a very nice way of putting it. Kids up there with the worst of all time and the head coach is still backing him. That speaks volumes about who he is as a leader and makes it a bit more clear that he may not be the guy we need. I’m starting to feel a bit like this team will get blown up again. They absolutely must bring in other QB’s. It’s the only way to keep the locker room from imploding aside of winning, but that’s not happening anytime soon. The QB doesn’t even have to be good and they’ll still be an upgrade. What’s Fitz doing? Wish I was joking. Make a deal for Winston. Beef up pass pro if you want to throw so god damn much. That dude will keep teams honest, that’s for sure.
I listened to that interview live, it was surreal. I’ve never heard a former player speak about another player the way he did. I actually felt bad for Zach for a brief moment thinking what it must feel like hearing a HOF legend straight up saying you’re irredeemable as a player.
i went out with Suzy Kolber tonight, and during dinner she was defending Zach's play, but later, when we took a stroll on the beach, I gradually began to convince her that Zach was not the answer. Finally, she gave in, and I think Joe would have been proud of my performance.
