- The double digit game losing streak - The awful loss that benched Zach last year (worst loss of 2022) - If we are really going to be a good team...we have to beat these guys. No ifs or buts. Just win!
Losing Kal EL didn't help our chances one bit. Belichek owns Zach and honestly, I have zero faith in Nate Hackett coming up with a gameplan that will be even remotely effective. I'm hoping for a competitive game but I'm also expecting another loss. I also expect our LB's to get lit up in crossing patterns that develop quickly especially on 2nd and 3rd downs.
Same here….we NEED to win this game, but I have very little faith in Zach specifically against a BB defense to not suck Hoping for a win but expecting a loss
Hard for me to view a game in Week 3 as a must-win but this one is about as close as you're gonna get to that so I kinda agree. Time to slay the dragon and break the streak. Hopefully the team is fired up after that loss to Dallas and will look to take it out on the Pats this Sunday. Fingers crossed.
It might not be a must win season wise. But for the fans sanity and dignity, a win against the Pats is what we need.
Well I get that its only week 3, but I think psychologically, this game is WAY more important and much more of a big deal…if we were playing the Bucs or the Cardinals or some other team, sure, but being the Patriots, having the chance to send them to 0-3, riding a 14 game losing streak to them, having Zach potentially implode against them…if we lose badly here, I think there is a very strong possibility that this team starts to crack.
It's more of a must win for the Pats. 0-2 and at Dallas in week 4. They lose here then they are probably 0-4 after the Cowboys game. NE is going to fight very hard to save their season. This is probably a 17-14, 16-13 type of game.
I'm as hopeful as the next guy but to me, the more pressing question is how bad does our record have to be until Saleh sits down ZW? Will it be after 1-5?
Will Saleh still be the coach if they are 1-5. The meltdown in the NYC area with the fans and media would be a shit storm. We see it all the time with the high-profile teams in this area (Jets, Giants, Yanks, Mets. Knicks) if you don't win the pitchforks and knives come out real fast on the HC's and GM's.
If ZW throws in a game like last years 2-yds NE game, and if he's still starting, Saleh shoud get the ax ala Ray Handley.
I also hate saying clichés like "must win," but this game is definitely that. It's at Metlife, Patriots aren't that good, Zach needs to beat this team for his confidence, and they need to end the streak. I'm not too worried about the defense, but Zach has to avoid the crippling turnovers and they will need at least 20 points to win this. Another critical thing will be getting a first half lead and holding it. Patriots are always better in the 2nd half.
starting the same Ol is just coaching stupidity. and, expect the defense back 7 to miss another ton of tackles.
It also doesn't help that the Jets get KC in week 4 on SNF. So, a loss dropping them to 1-2 could easily turn to 1-3.
Not saying you guys are wrong but I thought the game had already evolved past Rex in his last year here. We were giving up 80 yard plays left and right.
You mean Douglas should get the axe? Unless you think Saleh should be fired for not putting in Tim Boyle? Because bringing in a non-Boyle alternative is Douglas's responsibility.
Rex's defenses stopped working a decade ago. Bringing him in would be the coaching equivalent of bringing in Kaepernick to play QB because he was once good.
