Breece ripped off two 5 yard runs on the previous two plays. He was anything but winded... but he "hit his limit" at the 58 minute mark? Cook couldn't even make the yard needed for a 1st on the next play...
he had 11 touches. 10 runs and a catch. i'm thinking they probably set his limit around 10 touches. the position coach makes subs and deals with the group. it's possible he felt breece was done for the day or you know he has faith in the other guys too. or maybe breece told him something about how he was feeling that made him not want to put him in. again he's coming off an ACL injury. you want them to push him and lose him for the year too? cook is making 8 mil this season, he's a vet and former all pro, and he doesn't fumble. lots of times in these situations coaches like having the guy who's been there and done that and is the safe bet. The jets were playing safe at that point and breece already fumbled once
Hardly the biggest issue the Jets had last night but that was borderline unbelievable. I don't even think there was that much merit to it nor did the "tripping" make it so Gipson scored.
4 line guys saw the ball on the ground at the same time, but q and his cat like reflexes, he jumped on it and that was that. Lam
Sauce had one of the girliest tackle attempts Ive seen in the first half on Diggs... but then unbelievably it was topped on the punt return by the bills punter who basically threw his purse at Gipson!
Breece runs shocked me. Didn't think he was that ready. Jermaine Johnson is showing signs of being a major player.
still makes me wonder why we picked up Cook. We had Hall coming back. They can be an amazing tandem though going forward. Shame for Carter and Abanikanda.
Sadly, that was a large amount of fans. People spent the whole off season worrying about Becton, but nobody even thought twice about Brown, who missed the entirety of training camp and preseason, yet is supposed to protect the QB's blindside in game 1 against a vicious Bills defense with only a couple weeks of practice. He's clearly not ready, I'd rather have started Max Mitchell and played Becton at LT. Hope he shakes the rust soon, or we'll be needing to add multiple QBs.
I thoroughly enjoyed the Manningcast. It beats Buck & Aikman any day. It was actually pretty funny and made the Aaron Rodgers injury a little bit less painful. Ryan Fitzpatrick switching his loyalties by changing helmets was hilarious. They just don't spoonfeed you the game, you have to pay attention to who does what.
could have been as a decoy. remember the terell davis story? I'm sure the D was on alert when breece was in
The burst that Breece Hall has after he hits the LOS reminds me of a young LaDainian Tomlinson yeah I said Tomlinson Not sure which thread to put that in
With the Jets down 13-6 with about 9 minutes to go in the game, I yelled at Zach "remember the Steelers game last year, do what you did then!" I think he heard me through the TV because he did march the team down to score the tying touchdown. Even though his performance was mostly lackluster Mon. night, I'll give him a partial stud for that critical drive.
Boom! AFC Defensive Player of the Week - Jordan Whitehead. AFC Special Teams Player of the Week - Xavier Gipson.
If I need to gain a yard to ice the game... I'm gonna go with the back that is averaging 13 yards per carry over one that is averaging 2.5... It's just the smart thing to do.
Tackling ability was why I thought he'd fall out of the top 10. It helps that his coverage ability translated so well at the next level that it's mostly forgivable. Really hope we don't lose a game on one of his missed tackles though.
