Could be, but why wouldn't an injury not be immediately reporter during OTAs, unless it was not a football related injury.
He was their starting safety last year but it’s a little misleading. They signed Marcus Williams to a huge deal and drafted Kyle Hamilton in the first round. They slow rolled Hamilton a bit and Williams was hurt for part of the year. Clark asked to be traded in camp last year and then decided to stay and ended up playing all the snaps. But I think he was out of the plans for this year.
Another report saying he was hurt during OTAs https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nf...y-starter-for-the-year-due-to-serious-injury/
From today's The Jets Way: "Every now and again I encounter the Joe Namath curse guy. You must know at least one. The guy who is adamant that Joe Willie sold his soul and cursed the Jets for eternity in exchange for winning Super Bowl III against all the odds. Usually, I laugh it off. But every now and then I see something that makes me question whether those conspiracy theorists are bang on the money. Things like this: We traded for a guy who had played over 1,200 consecutive snaps without issue. He doesn’t even get to his first snap before losing the streak if reports of his season-ending injury turn out to be true. To add insult to injury, the second guy on the list is a player the Jets drafted and chose not to re-sign. He also happens to be one of the better linebackers in pro football right now."
It stinks for the back end and for CC. He is still only 28 years old and hopefully he will be able to make a full recovery next year. Consensus is that he is done for the season with the confirmation soon to come. The Amos signing is about as good as we could have hoped for. Still better then Lemarcus Joyner
Maybe they were trying to find a trade and didn’t want the other teams to know the reason they needed a starting safety
I realized injuries are part of the game but it seems like the Jets are snakebitten by them. We were already sketchy at safety now we are in serious trouble.
Yeah it's very rare for any player to never be injured but it being a season ending as his first is a little crazy lol
Confirmed: Sources - Tests show torn ACL for Jets safety Chuck Clark - ESPN Glad the Jets Pivoted quickly. It is, what it is. Hopefully we see Amos continue his durability streak. Played in every possible game since 2018
even funnier , we didn't resign him after his rookie deal, He went to cleveland for 1 season. then we traded cleveland pryor for him (which was a great trade for us). and let him walk a 2nd time to NO where he went on to be 1st or 2nd team AP in 4 out of his 5 seasons there.
