This has been pathetic! It’s crazy to have the payroll they have and have the issues they have. Eppler has to go in season because he can’t be trusted to handle the trade deadline.

$364,000,000 payroll and he's taken us from "you gotta believe", to "you gotta be kidding me".

I don’t know if vientos looks over matched because he lacks the capability or because he has been dealt a bad hand with the lack of continuity. With Pete gone where are the HR gonna come from? Just Alvarez and occasionally Lindor? Maybe just maybe if you played vientos everyday he’d figure it out and give the lineup some pop.

One thing for sure is he’s been mismanaged. So if he isn’t gonna get some continuous reps to see if he sinks or swims then reassess whether he should be up here or not ,they should just send him back down because at this point I think he’s been completely demoralized.

scherzer knocked out in the 4th inning. Couldn’t perform against this Yankees lineup? That’s not good!

Scherzer is cooked. Great career but we're witnessing the cliff and he's falling off. Velocity way down inning to inning (and he can't get away with the sticky stuff).

God, this team just keeps getting worse and worse.

Looks like both Scherzer and Verlander have decided that this is the year that their times as effective pitchers end.

We have Lindor signed until '31. What a God-awful contract.

I don’t get this? So you’re playing a man down why? I do feel bad for him because social media has been brutal but giving him this luxury when 99.9% would be dfa. Perplexing!

I think that there is a very real possibility that this will be the last year Showalter manages anywhere.

My God, this team makes about a half-dozen mistakes every game.

Verlander did his job but this team is brain dead I tell ya. Let’s see if they can figure out a way to win this game.

Hallelujah, the Mets actually do something right for once. Nimmo makes up for two games of stupidity, despite Escobar's totally moronic baserunning on the winning play.

Alonso very surprisingly back in the lineup today after only 10 days on the IL.

Of course, the player move the Mets make in response is to send Vientos down. It's better than not playing him, but the month they had him up was so monumentally poorly handled.

God, Carrasco is so horrible, As is the Mets' defense, of course. This team is going absolutely nowhere.

Yet another moronic decision by Showalter costs the Mets - Robertson only needs 8 pitches to get through the eighth, but Showalter brings in Ottavino anyway in the ninth, who of course gives up a home run to Arenado.

Four more home runs given up by the pathetic Mets pitching staff.
